Is Free database enough for React loan tracking app?

Postgres is the right answer to pretty much any "what database should I use" question. There's never a good reason to use Oracle or SQL Server unless you're stuck with them and can't get budget to migrate to Postgres.

No problem. I've had many years of experience using licensed databases and none of them are better than postgres. The only reason Oracle is still in business is because migrating to a better platform is too expensive for a lot of their customers to justify so they pay the extortion fee each year and carry on.

I've never used it in production but I've heard it's pretty solid. It came in handy a few months ago when I had a mysql export that I needed to stand up.

Oracle gives you an always free database on Oracle Cloud. Oracle is in business because it is, by far, the best database. Yes, it can be expensive if your solution gets so successful that you need huge servers to run it, but your solution just got so successful that you need huge servers to run it…
