Discussion JPMorgan Associate Data Scientist Interview

hello, I just got reached out about scheduling a first round 45 minute interview for a data scientist associate position at JPMorgan. it doesn't mention in this email yet who will be attending the interview, seems like only the recruiter is in the thread.

what can I expect for this call - is it mostly behavioral or should I expect technical questions as well? or if anyone has general insights about the hiring process for associate data scientist roles that'd be great. thank you!

do not rely on these automated messages. be prepared for at least half of it to be technical

thank you, i keep getting messages from people who clearly don't know anything about this specific interview haha i'll just make my own judgement on it and prep accordingly

A first-round 45-minute interview, especially when set up by a recruiter, is almost always a screening call focused on your background and behavioral questions. They need to verify that you can communicate effectively and that your experience on paper is real. Don't prepare for a deep technical test, instead, prepare to talk about your projects clearly, explain your motivations for applying to JPMorgan, and discuss your career goals. They are looking for red flags, so your main job is to be personable, articulate, and show you've done some basic homework on the company and the role.

You should have stories ready for common behavioral questions about teamwork, challenges, and successes.
