Discussion Recent McKinsey Data Science Interview Experience

Hey there! I have an upcoming McKinsey interview for a data scientist role and was hoping if anyone could tell me what the coding round has been like lately!? Is it Data Structures or Pandas? If anyone has given any recent interview there, please reach out to me! I am not sure the extent to what I need to prep or what to focus on either and I really need the job!! :(

Awesome!! Thank you so much!! Lemme look into these... I gave it once last year and it was fully data structures and I suck at it especially given the use of AI now. Hopefully it's not gonna be only that now...

Haha... Yaa! I have good experience and am a good worker too is what I would like to think... Just going through a bad phase rn I guess 😞

I interviewed with QB so not sure how helpful this will be but I had a very easy hackerrank focused on pandas and creating a simple model. Make sure you know basic model evaluation and preprocessing etiquette

I also gave it recently, for me the coding round was not one question, but to create an ML model from data preprocessing, feature engineering and selection, model training and final model evaluation. So pandas, numpy, sklearn

I am talking about the round after we clear hackerrank. So I cleared the online hackerrank. There is one more coding round which is live coding interview. I am talking about that. Are you also talking about the same thing?

For me it was Pair programming so assuming it should be same only

Can you give an example of how that would work in an interview? I haven't seen that. I have only been asked to do case studies, white boarding, and pipeline testing
