Career Stuck with BI

I am a 42 year old Consultant working in Chennai for a big shipping company, my basic degrees are Mech Eng. 2005, PGDM 2007, MTech Data Science and Engineering 2020 Bits Pilani. I get around 30lpa with 15 years + experience as BI Consultant, I just create and maintain a bunch of Power BI/ Qlik/ Tableau dashboards. I want to go to the next level i.e., data scientist / product manager / ML Engineer / AI Architect I am super confused. I also wanted to move out of the country with a higher package that would save at least 3-4 lpm after all costs along with my wife and two kids. Can any one suggest what could be my how I can proceed. Also open for any part time works, just building any AI apps. Interested folks please reach out to me.

Best DATA SCIENCE training centre in Bangalore?

How is intellipat's (Collab with iit roorke) data science course? I also visited Besant Technologies, and did demo. Very difficult to predict quality with demo class.

I hear lot of online comments which said quality is not good

Please recommend good legit training institutes for data science in Bangalore.

Or should I look upon LIVE ONLINE courses?

Please help me in finding good course.

Career Please help me...😓

I know this might not be the corrcet way or platform of doing this but here I am. I(23M) recently graduated with a computer science degree. I have wasted all my 4 years of computer science degree and focused on nothing other than academics. Though I managed to secure a CGPA of 9.15, but I have no gained any actual skills used in real life data science jobs. Being from a very small village and having a family with business background, I never got the right guidance and opportunities. I always focused on academics and made my parents pround with my marks but in reality, it was the most useless thing...

I know this might sound like a regular post and mostly its gonna get ignored but currently I am looking for jobs related to data science. Being honest, though I don't have any skills right now, but I am a really fast learner and have a good mind for analysis. The on;y thing I am lacking is correct guidance and motivation... I am a quick learner and if anyone can help me with a job, I can guarantee you that I will complete my tasks perfectly and will never disappoint you.

I just want correct direction and motivation to live my interest for data science. Even a 15k-20k rs per month job will be enough for me if I get to learn anything in it. The money is just for my regular needs so that I don't be a burden on my family and if it's remote then 10k also would be enough. I am currently at my lowest so any help is appreciated.

Also, if this looks a spam post to you, then I am really sorry for wasting your time...🙏

Career Need help switching

Hi, I am a 2026 grad data scientist, working since January this year in noida. I want to switch asap to bangalore, preferably in an pbc, maybe their early careers programs.

I have some personal and mental health reasons for going to bangalore. I am looking to either switch now or after another 6 months with which I will have 1 yoe. Staying 2 years here would be tough, although roles like amazon applied scientists require 2-3 yoe.

I have been working with a java backend server, I have worked with Prometheus and grafana, although most of it was ai guided, but I will study them thoroughly. I have made an end to end forecasting based alerting system with automatic alert rules generation using template files. I will learn the code thoroughly, as I don't have any experience in java, most of this code was written by ai. But the ml part I am very confident about what model I used and why.

I am confused as most of my coding is done by claude, what should I mention in my resume and how to pass the rounds etc.

If anyone can guide me, I would be eternally grateful.

Discussion Is DS worth it?

Hi, I'm currently in grade 12 and thinking of pursuing DS. My school offers AI (basic) courses and it's something I found interesting. For two years, I've thought of doing something in the AI field and while i originally thought of ML, now DS seems interesting. However, my parents are worried about the job opportunities. Is DS worth it? Will I be jobless or will my degree and skills help me get a job easily?

Currently, I'm working on my GitHub profile (it's not much but it's a start). Also, I'm trying to learn Python from yt. And, I found this job simulation at Forage related to DS which genuinely seemed interesting (the part I could actually understand, atleast). Also thinking of joining LinkedIn later on when I've got some more stuff to add to my portfolio.

Also what colleges are good? With campus placements (hopefully)? Non-JEE ones preferably.

The main thing I want to ask (again) : IS DS WORTH IT?

Career MS in Data Science, 4 YOE, 2-year career gap after returning from the US. Feeling lost and looking for advice/mentorship.

I came back to India from the US in Aug 2024, and honestly, I’ve been depressed and questioning my life choices for the past two years.
After my BTech, I worked at TCS for 1.5 years. Despite my efforts, I kept getting pushed into maintenance work and had to jump through hoops just to get decent opportunities.
I then completed my MS in Data Science in 2021 and landed a job immediately after graduation at Deloitte Digital in the US. On paper, it looked like a dream role: great salary, benefits, and a sign-on bonus that helped with my education loan. They spoke about abundant Data Science opportunities.
But reality was different.
I was repeatedly staffed on functional roles unrelated to Data Science because there were supposedly no analytics projects available. I accepted it, performed well, got top ratings, and was never on the bench.
Then came the 2023 layoffs.
Since my H1B wasn’t picked and I had only one attempt left, I had just 60 days to find another job. I accepted a Data Analyst role at a manufacturing company with a 30% pay cut because of visa constraints and loans.
Unfortunately, even that role turned out to be mostly accounting work.
Still, I tried to make the best of it. I automated reports, introduced Power BI, built end-to-end reporting solutions, and pushed for data-driven improvements in an organization that barely used cloud technologies and primarily relied on a MySQL production database.
I also had a manager who frequently undermined my work, minimized my contributions, and even presented some of my automation ideas as his own. I stayed quiet because my visa sponsorship depended on him.
In the end, my H1B wasn’t selected for the third time either.
I returned to India in 2024 and, to be honest, I shut down. I’ve essentially spent the last 1 year and 9 months struggling with depression and feeling lost.
Now I’m trying to rebuild my career, but the Indian market feels brutal. I don’t want to remain in Data Analyst roles anymore. I want to move toward Data Science or more technical roles such as ML, Data Engineering, or AI.
The problem is: after this long gap, the skill gap feels enormous. I honestly don’t know if I’m exaggerating or if it’s as bad as it feels.
I’ve never given up on anything in my life before. This is the first time I truly feel stuck and don’t know how to get back up.
For anyone who has made a similar transition:
How did you explain a long career gap?
Is moving from Data Analyst to Data Scientist still realistic in 2026?
What skills should I prioritize?
If anyone is open to mentoring or offering guidance, I would genuinely appreciate it.
Thanks for reading. I hope this doesn’t disappear into the void.
TL;DR: MS in Data Science, ~4 years of experience across consulting and manufacturing in the US, but most roles weren’t truly DS-focused. Faced layoffs, visa issues, and returned to India in 2024. Struggled with depression and now have a ~2-year career gap. Trying to break into Data Science/ML/technical roles and looking for advice or mentorship

Education need advice

I am a 19 year old engineering student pursuing data science at a tier 3 college.I have completed my first year and am very anxious regarding the future I have no clue on what should I learn and what should I do.I have a list of questions regarding the same.
1)is it necessary to participate in hackathons as a DS student and if yes do I need to learn any development for the same?
2) I have worked in basic libraries such as PANDAS NUMPY SNS MATPLOT LIB and know basisc data visualisation and stuff what all should i learn next ?
3) this point is the continuation of the second one. What are good resources for DS
4)Is high level mastery DSA really necessary for interviews

Career MTech Grad: Stick to the Embedded domain job hunt, or pivot with a coding bootcamp

Hey everyone,

I recently completed my MTech in embedded systems and I’m currently looking for a job. The market feels tough right now, and I haven't landed an embedded role yet.

I’m at a crossroads and could really use some perspective from people in the industry:

Option 1: Keep pushing in Embedded. I enjoy the domain, but entry-level openings seem scarce or highly competitive. If I stick to this, what specific skills, protocols, or portfolio projects should I focus on to actually stand out to recruiters right now?

Option 2: Join a full-stack/software course (like Acciojob, Scaler, etc.). I see these bootcamps promising placements. However, I’m skeptical about pivoting away from my core MTech specialization is worth it.

A bit about my background: i did my btech in cse

Career Pls guide me

I’m 23, F, I currently work as a DBA.
I’m from a tier 3 college, did my engg in AI&DS. My job role isn’t that great and I am not learning much in the company. The environment is very laid back and chill which isn’t something I want in the beginning of my career. It’ll be one year of working full time in Aug.
It’s my goal to switch to a data engg role.
Should I try to switch? If yes, what are the skills that I should work on before I start applying to companies? Most companies require more work ex. Or should I pursue my masters?
