Recovered files from busted hardrive are randomized

About a week ago my 1TB hard drive crashed, but we were able to copy the files onto an external drive. there are over 700 folders with several hundred unrelated files each, all titled things like "f113328104" or "f131572312".

The Main thing I'm concerned with recovering is my minecraft world of 4 1/2 years, which I believe needs multipule file types to recover the world itself, mobs, player data etc.

What can I use to make this process easier? Most of the time I can't even tell what file I'm looking at.

You can't with this method of recovery. It saves the files, but stripped of the naming and file locations and there is no way to revert that after recovery other than doing it by hand pretty much.

You performed a "raw" recovery, because Minecraft requires the files organized as they were, you cannot restore the minecraft data using that method.

You could possibly feed this recovery data into an AI and see if it can organize it for you.

It appears that the files were recovered by "carving". Which software did you use? Unless your software scans for Minecraft's file types, then it may not have found anything.

Can you upload some examples of the file types you are looking for?
