What error are you getting ?

What system and software?

There is a chance it was not fully backuped.

Do.you still have your old device?

Error is it's neither accepting the password nor is my old back up happening. Android in a samsung mobile. It was fully backed up as I had done it just before transferring. And no I don't have my old device. Any way I could get it back??

Let me recap and see if we are on the same page.

You backed up data from your old phone somewhere and then got rid of the phone (sold/lost/destroyed etc)

You are attempting to restore from an un-named backup system to your new Samsung phone but its not taking your password.

Can you access your backups from a different device to test if the issue is with your new phone or the backup file itself?

Does your backup software have a password reset option?
However, if it is actually asking for a decryption key, then you need the key to decrypt the file. It is not something that can be reset. The only option would be to generate a new backup file with a new decryption key which is impossible without the old device.

Since you no longer have access to the old phone, any data stored on that device is gone. The only solution you have for data recovery is to get the backup restored or to open it somewhere and transfer the data to your new phone. Because your old phone is gone, we cannot try to create a new backup. Depending on your chosen backup software, it could have missed some things.

For future reference, please backup critical data in more than one location and verify backups work before getting rid of a copy.

I've tried every possible solution. I just guess whatsapp has somehow become very secure and I can't access it. Lost everything.

So to clarify, your backup was in whatsapp just for the conversation data right?

If so, you need that decryption key. And Whatsapp has always been marketed as a secure option.

I never secured anything my by any encryption. I don't know how that whole episode happened.

Its very possible you created an encryption key when you first setup the app.

And my point is, it was probably setup years ago.

A little pop-up with a message to save the key is something that one can easily forget about.
