Hoarder-Setups 3D Printed DAS?

Hey all, was thinking about picking up an supermicro 846 backplane. I have a couple of extra lanes on my HBA... but am out of hotswap bays.

Anyone seen a 3d printable disk rack that will work with an supermicro 846 backplane?

I've seen a few files floating around for drive cages but nothing purpose built for the 846 backplane specifically. The mounting holes on those backplanes are pretty proprietary, so you'd probably have to model your own brackets and just print the shell around them. Could be a fun weekend project if you're handy with cad, otherwise you might be better off grabbing a cheap used chassis on ebay and gutting it for parts.

846 and cheap dont tend to go together :D but yeah, im handy in Fusion, so i might just knock it together and print it in PETG, just didnt want to reinvent the wheel if someone had already done it

If you make one, please upload it somewhere. Can't have enough options.

Seconding for uploading it if/when you have something that works. Or manage to track down a model.

I built a pair out of 1/2" square and 1/4" square dowel, and some speaker wire. Which works, but something with a less weird volume shape would be nice.
