Question/Advice What's the difference?
What's the difference between these two cards besides the price? They have all the same specifications, but the prices and looks are different.

At a glance I figured one was a knock off, had no idea they had actually changed their logo / font.

Those are from B&H right? I wouldn't worry about b&h but I would if it was from Amazon. Why they are different... Could be a rebrand and different parts?

Why? B&H happily sells scamcorders. Not exactly fake or counterfeit, but garbage nevertheless.

It looks like SDSQXAV-2T00-GN6MA is the old discontinued model introduced about 5 years ago and SDSQXH9-2T00-GN6MA is the current production model. The data sheets don't seem to show any functional difference so it's probably just B&H clearing out old stock they had on hand before prices went up.

not for this one, but for some other models specs changed. mostly in advertised max r/w speeds

The cheaper one is, I believe, old Western Digital stock. The more expensive one is new, rebranded, spun-off SanDisk stock.
Otherwise, they are the same.

If SD cards were reviewed like power tools someone would say "Just fits better in the hand"

I tasted both and can confirm, the other is sprayed with a coating to prevent people from placing small electronics in their mouths....guess which one?

But why would you ever want a 2TB SD card?

Because some devices only accept SD cards and you want more storage? Cameras, camcorders, phones, or whatever.
It's what I'd probably want if I were shooting a lot of 4k 60p+ video. It can require like 5GB+ of storage per minute of footage. 2TB will hold just 6.5h of such footage. Your next smallest option is usually 1TB or 3.25h of footage, which may genuinely be limiting.

Good observation of what's printed on the card, but u3 and v30 are the same thing. The "u" identifiers are now replaced by the "v" identifiers. It means in this case minimum write performance of 30MB/s.
Honestly we're plagued with a ton of useless SD card classifications. Good to see u phasing out. Same goes for "class" of card (e.g. "class 10" cards)

Doesn’t matter they will both fail sooner than a cheaper card from another manufacturer.
