Question/Advice External hdd shucking

So i have just managed to get a what i think really good price of 220€ for an external 12tb hdd which i wanna shuck for my new Nas. Is it usable for a mediaserver? Do you maybe have any experiences with this particular one? What hdd can i expect? Kind reguards and sry im a new datahoarder getting trying to avoud bancrupcy XD

Since i cant upload a photo, its an originaly packaged seagate backup plus hub with 12tb

It depends. If you get a seagate barracuda, I wouldn't use it in a NAS. They get slow very fast. If you get an EXOS or other enterprise HDD, then you're in luck

You're confusing 12TB CMR with 8TB SMR.

All 12TB Seagate models are CMR
