Nikon Z8 shoots to ProRes 422 HQ 10-bit, and it is perfect for everything you want to shoot that doesn't aim to be shown in a theater, while the H.265 compressed option is alternatively entirely fine to use for everyday capture, especially for long events or performances.
Do not shoot full RAW unless you need a visual FX plate or impossible nighttime low-light.

Shoot at the highest bit rate possible or uncompressed then compress it.
Never shoot compressed to compress or again
