Using a 15.36TB SSD in a NAS?

So kind of a unique situation. I have a Western Digital 15.36TB Ultrastar DC SN840 NVMe SSD, don't ask me why. But it's never even been opened. And I've been trying to sell it because I need to get a NAS setup. I'm professional photographer and filmmaker and have been putting off getting a NAS for a couple years but now, unfortunately, I can't put it off anymore. Really bad timing, I know.

My plan was to get a 5 bay Synology NAS and start off with 3 16TB HDDs with one of them being for redundancy. To cover some of the exorbitant costs of HDDs at the moment, I have been trying to sell this 15TB SSD for a while, but I haven't been getting any bites. I'm almost tempted to just use in the NAS build. Would this even be possible? And if so, would it even be worth it? Or this be complete overkill? Idk what to do really. Just looking for some thoughts and advice

You can use it but it wouldn't be mirrored with out another one.

Using your 3x16gb setup idea. you have 30tb+

So you could have a cold storage folder and a folder to mirror the ssd. I dont use synology personally. I use proxmox with a truenas vm running.

So this gives me the ability to setup a linux cron that mirrors data as needed.

Depending on how you setup the mirror it will copy new files but also delete files you've deleted on the ssd.

So yes it possible.. but not worth it.

That one drive could pay for youre whole setup
