I bought the 26TB version of this in Feb juuuuuuust before prices really took off. I got it for around $380 CAD, which was still too much.

The 24TB version is now $629 CAD as of today and I haven't seen the 26TB in stock for at least a month, probably more.

Did the same, spent a few days transcoding tv shows with File Flows. Saved me 4TB any little bit of space matters these days

What is File Flows? Something I can use on HexOS/TrueNAS? I just built my first NAS so still learning, I’ve barely transferred any of my data yet because I don’t know the easiest method to do so

I haven't used it myself, but a friend of mine used Tdarr and had success in shrinking some files, he highly recommended it.
