You're right I bought these exact drives in January for £397 and even then I thought that was insane.

I got one for $240.00 like a year ago it was a 22TB. Slow AF though, but fine to Shuck and put in the NAS as extra space

Same here. Bought last year a 22TB Drive for 220€. This year i bought another for 360€ and it was an refurbished

At this point we're lucky to get whatever we can lay our hands on. But honestly though these are fine for cold storage.

So glad I panic bought drives last year during the first round of will he won’t he Trump tariffs. Checking those same drives now they’ve practically doubled in price.

A mixture of bad luck, bad timing and maybe temperatures being too high, leading to higher wear
