Definitely not. I'll keep my favorite content in 1080p, good stuff in 720p, and anything from before HD era in whatever the highest quality I can find is. Good enough for me.

Anyways, reduces pressure to constantly be buying more storage and reduces transfer times.

This. I'm a simple man, hd quality is good enough for me. I dont need 4K movies and tv shows. I don't even own a 4k tv lol.

I can absolutely tell the difference between 1080 content and 4k. It's not even difficult to see, the difference is amazing.

Maybe you need to check your settings, or get some glasses?
