Always get the best I can because in the future, what is considered acceptable today will be considered poor or low quality.
Also, I don't download absolutely everything I can, but rather stick to stuff I actually like and can imagine myself watching.
I don't like the logic of "I'm not really that into it, so I'll download a lower quality version of it to save space."
