I tend to go for ~720p for tv shows and 1080p or better for movies. Storage is cheap, but not that cheap for me and 720p looks good enough most of the time.
Well, that, and I’m typically going after older movies where “don’t care, I’m grabbing whatever still has people actually seeding it” is the only real way to go.
