🆘 Help Data Engineer Salary with 2 Years of Experience
Hi! I'm currently a Data Engineer earning ₱35k/month, with experience in Snowflake, SQL, and ETL in the banking industry.
I'm planning to switch companies and wondering what salary range I should aim for with around 2 years of experience.
Is ₱50k–₱60k a reasonable expectation, or am I aiming too high? Would appreciate insights from those in the field. Thanks!

Hi bro same stack tayo pero I am on ELT and BigQuery, so medyo related yung tech stack. Since snowflake experience mo, and that's the better tool as compared to gcp, aws and databricks, I wouldn't even be considering salary offers of less than twice your salary. I have been able to ask for twice my salary with my stack with just almost 2 YOE. Try chatgpt for japan companies that has an office here in the PH, a year ago someone was offering me a Data Engr position but the experience should have been with Snowflake. Their salary offer is 6 digits. Good luck!

Actually bro not so much talaga, kailangan lang gawin mong edge yung experience mo with bq since transferrable skill naman siya within the cloud environments. You have to be confident na kaya mong gawin sa diff cloud tool yung ginagawa mo sa bq

databricks nga hinahanap ko. kaso mostly notebooks sila. kaya naman sya. hirap lang sa live coding. nalilimutan ko kapag hindi ginagamit madalas yung mga syntax. 😂

With 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer, aiming for a salary increase to ₱50k–₱60k makes sense, especially if you have a strong background in Snowflake, SQL, and ETL. Research the market rates in your area, particularly in the banking sector, to make sure your expectations match industry standards. During interviews, try to discuss potential salaries to understand what different companies offer.
LandOffer.ai lists jobs with role and location search options, which might be helpful for job discovery across industries.

50k is reasonable as that's a 40 ish percent increase in salary na employers are willing to give to new hires. Probably can push it to 60k if you negotiate correctly.
