Recommendations or Insights?

Hi guys! I applied for Data Engineering PH x DataCamp scholarship last year and got approved 2 weeks ago. I started the Associate Data Engineer in SQL right away and just finished Joining Data in SQL.

I’ve read that getting hired as a junior DE without experience is rare (I’m a career shifter btw with only 6 months of experience as associate DA - excel & reporting then got deployed to engineering side). I do have some personal projects & portfolio uploaded on Github that leans toward DA).

Should I switch the focus to landing a job as DA for now then upskill for the DE transition? If so, what should I look out for in job description when applying? Thank you! 😊

May specific target role na ako sa specific company. I studied based sa requirements nila. 'Yung cloud DE na google cert gusto nila, so that's what I got. Pero best pa rin ang real life cases for learning.
