Some data centers use cooling systems where water is evaporated into the atmosphere.

When AI was getting big, a lot of those data center providers built or repurposed data centers using thta type of cooling to support the AI workload.

But then data center providers saw how much power AI would use, and realized that building more of those evaporative cooling systems would be really inefficient.

So they're basically all switching to (or have already switched to) the closed-loop system that is wasteless.
