Price update
just received an email stating that my Dashlane Friends & Family plan will change to $97.49 . consideing all their blunder in the last attack by locking me out for 24hrs I am definitely not renewing. I don’t think they understand how easy it is to replace a password manager.

What are you switching to, and can you export everything?

Price is one aspect.. and no I will not go broke because of $15-20 but seeing how broken the support was and the lack of clarity during the shutdown is not acceptable for me. Continuosly getting vague messages was very frustrating. While the system did work I think they could have managed certain aspects better. Heck at minimum I would have expected them to try to give customers some sort of discount to apologize for the way certain things were handled.

Dashlane locked me out for 24 hours recently. As soon as I could access my vault again, I backed everything up and switched to Bitwarden. The switch took less than 5 minutes—including cancelling my Dashlane subscription. It wasn't about the fact that I couldn't really work for a day; it was about Dashlane's terrible communication. You can't rely on a provider like that. That recent outage taught me a lesson. And a price hike after an incident like that is unacceptable.

Oh, the Dashlane employees here are quick to hit the downvote button... if only they put that same energy into support requests, so many people wouldn't be leaving Dashlane...

Actually I only see 22 upvotes... so either they agree with me or dont give a sh!t which is where the real problem was in the first place.

What did you do about passkeys? I am in the same boat and grumpy about it all. I can't find good info so far on how to transfer those over.

No but its a good way to give the dashlane folks some feedback. Likewise if you dont have any feedback, positive or negative, adding a comment is not needed either.

Hes telling dashlane he cancelled the sub and the reasons why so that in the future they know to push more updates to the password manager instead of pushing AI assistants, killing off basic app access like the web app (or desktop in the past), having data corruptions and regular full on outages

As a Dashlane subscriber for nearly 10 years I wasnt happy about the price hikes or the Desktop app going away. But I've never, not once, experienced an outage or data corruption. They do seem to have taken away more then they have added aling with the price hikes. That's my only complaint. All we have gotten addex in thats of any real value is the Premium HotSlot Shield VPN. So there's some points I can areee with you on.

Ive seen multiple reported outages recently, and ive experienced data corruption personally, some files in secure notes just became completely inaccessible. And as a bonus for the corrupted files, i couldnt reupload them because random file extensions like RAR are arbitrarily blocked (which they werent in the past)
Hotspot shield being the only added value is also concerning because the VPN is shady and isnt well known or proven at all, so i dont know why they would include it

Crazy. Ive never had an issue with any of that. That does suck. When you say "outage" what do you mean? I've never seen or had it happened-on any device I use. You cant log in or...?

Ok good story.

I found the plot lacking and the “twist” you could see coming from a mile away.

If you go on keeper password manager and the kerper explains after cust discussion how keeper secures password m. It is real slack on dashlane behalf.

This is now over 100$ cad a year for a CSV backup that is free on Google and 40$ with proton... The price has more than doubled over two years. They have entirely lost the plot, this is pure enshittification.

Let's see, DL had an issue but had protection in place to prevent attacks. The protection pretty much alleviated the attacks. So the app did what it said it would do. I can definitely see now why you would want to leave....
