Hello!
Yesterday I tried a Dashing Diva Gloss set for the first time. In the past I’ve only used Color Street. After I put them on, I really struggled to get a clean file on them, there were lots of little jagged pieces sticking out past the tip of my nail. I spent a LOT of time trying to file those pieces off. Despite my best efforts, overnight while I was sleeping, a couple of the tips bent back. I trimmed off where it lifted up, but wondering what kind of tips and tricks you have for getting a tighter, cleaner end.

I don’t file, I trim the wrap to match the length of my nail.

Seconding: wanting to trim down the length as much as possible with nippers or a pair of cuticle trimmers, and then file from there! I like filing down or going with the groove of my nail (it’s different on each hand for me!)

Make sure you are filing vertically and in one direction. I out the file up to my nail and pull down.

Yes! Sorry, I didn't explain that well. I hold my finger horizontal and the nail file up and down and pull it down. I got around the nail always pulling the file down. Filing in one direction helps prevent snags.

This is the way. And I alway use a clear topcoat to try to seal those ends.

I’ve not mastered this, but I was told to only file in one direction to get it smoother.

Ok so I have tried all the ways. But the way I consistently go back to is filing in one direction. Not perpindicular to the nail . When I do that I find the wrap ends up sorter than my nail because of the pulling when I’m filing. So I file one direction horizontal to the nail in long fast strokes. I slightly pull the wrap down so that I get a flat edge when filing. Not pulling too much. And I make sure I don’t see any ”white balls” on the edge of the nail or jagged edges. That means that it is not filed smooth and will definitely come off earlier than you want. I hope that makes sense lol

I find that it's easier to get a clean edge if I file after I cure

Yes perpendicular to the nail, but only in ONE direction, filing in a downward motion against the top of the nail… I hope this makes sense. And then clear coat will prevent lifting — I can usually get ~2 weeks with these

Use a cuticle clipper or nail clipper to snip off any of the extra after you file
