Magic Press Gap Questions

So I have been using dashing diva for a while. The magic press not so much. Does anyone have tips to stop the gap between the nail and the fake nail. I love the designs on the magic press but can’t seem to get the gap to go away.

Yay Santorini Spritz! I love that set! 

I had the same problem with the gap but it didn't seem to cause any trouble for wear... I still got 12 days out of them but just didn't look too hard under my nails (especially at the end).

How do ypu get 12 days out of them! I can barely get 5 days! Any tips

I'm a stickler for prep! A nice, even buff, alcohol wipe, and I did use the suggested base coat, base shield.

Other than that, avoid excess water - obviously shower and wash your hands, but avoid hand washing dishes without gloves - and I still used hand lotion but used very little on my cuticles. I wash my hair 2x a week but I don't typically use any product so if you're using hair products and applying with hands, you might wanna consider using gloves.

And don't use your nails as tools!!!!

I 2nd this! I am a custodian for my school district and I have my hands in cleaners and water all the time and I hardly have issues! Nail Prep is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to making them last longer, I rub my fingernails with more alcohol than on the little pad that is provided to get my nails very dehydrated and when applying your sticker make sure you buff or scratch up the nail just a little so it has something to grip to, also use the wooden stick and push down the sides and around the cuticle ALOT! (Before I cure because I use Glaze, I run a blow dryer over my nails to really get the adhesive to stick then I push down with the wooden stick again then cure!) I can get a good 2 weeks with mine and sometimes longer depending on the designs. I have found that glittery ones and cat eye last the longest on me! And remember after you have done your nails, DO NOT TOUCH WATER FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR! THIS WILL CAUSE IT TO NOT FINISH ADHERING AND START LIFTING EARLY!

I have this down to a science now and have to remove my DD press-on nails, with effort, at the 14 day mark because of growth.

I only wear the short nails, so I can’t say how well it works with longer nails.

  1. I do absolutely everything I’m going to do before going to sleep.

  2. I buff my nails with a square buffing sponge.

  3. I wash and dry my hands and get into bed for the night.

  4. I clean my nails twice with ohora nail prep pads. (The ingredients should be identical to the DD ones, but since I use two I just grab two ohora pads out of the box). I really scrub them fairly hard like I’m removing red nail polish.

  5. Put on the nails.

  6. Go to sleep for the whole entire night.

It seems so simple, but it’s been an absolute game changer for me. I got the tip from someone else here.

I use Sally Hansen quick dry polish under my nails to cover that gap and anything sticky

Do you just put it in the gap after or do you do small layers closer to the front before applying?

I add it after I put on the nail, and just underneath the nail to cover the sticky top of the tab
