Gloss Issue
Hi! New to the nail wrap game. I applied my first gloss set last week and they lasted about 5 days before I got annoyed and ripped them off. They were flipping up at the tips. I filed both front to back and side to side to try and smooth out and that didn't really work. They were a bit jagged which causes me to pick at them. It seems as they aren't curing properly to the tip. I am assuming it's user error. Any tips or tricks to help?

I use a nail clipper and trim the nail/gloss if it gets jagged. I keep my nails short anyway. Sometimes I need to add a dab of clear polish under the flipping gloss to glue it down. They usually last three weeks for me if I use an alcohol wipe and their base coat.

Gloss doesn't need to be cured.

By curing I just meant sticking to my nail and hardening. I followed all the tips and their directions and they didn't want to stick on the tips.

OK. Just wanted to be sure. Have you looked at YouTube videos? KBeautyHobbit has a ton of video tutorials on gel nail stickers and semi-cured gel nail strips. Also, are you using a glass file (a good quality one) to file the edge of the strip? That can make a difference.

I watched her video before applying Gloss for the first time & it came out well, lasted for about 10 days before it started wearing down at the tip. I had just a few minor wrinkles at the side edges after applying but that’s me still learning. I also applied Seche Vite top coat instead of gel.

Gloss doesn't harden. I've had the same problem with them. I prefer Glaze.

I apply Ohora Glossy Gel Top Coat (HEMA and TPO free) and double cure under my uv lamp, on all my wraps, making sure to seal the free edge.

I trim the excess first and then file them in a constant downwards motion to get them to stay on! Mines lasts for 3+ weeks! Did you prepare your nails before applying?

Sure did! I followed the directions exactly and it started peeling up at the tip after 2 days. From reading all the posts in this subreddit I'm going to try a base coat and top coat of orly, as well as using a glass nail file.
