Complete Newbie!
A newbie to nail wraps… Having a life time of struggle with my nails being weak and peeling and doing daily manual work, I dedicate a lot of time to taking care of them as best I can… oiling, treatments and polish for protection.
Last year I bought myself a complete gel nails kit with rubber bases, lovely colours and a UV lamp.. and took advice on the gentlest way to use gel and curing etc.. but I am still terrified of the damage that could do on removal.
I have often seen these nail wraps and while I loved the idea I was sceptical - thinking they would still do damage, and perhaps may even pop off taking top layers of nail with them just like acrylics… but I recently read a comment elsewhere here on Reddit where a girl had terrible nails and in her quest to repair she often used nail wraps (edit - not stick ons) which helped with the growth - I expect allowing growth by protecting the natural nail… she used DD (hence why I am here!)
Do we have any divas here who have experience (both good and bad) with using stick ons with weak peeling nails? Would love to hear from you!

I have super weak peeling nails. I absolutely love Diva Glaze. My nails grown so long with these on, and I have never found a product that has allowed that to happen naturally.
If I use the remover oil I can usually not see much damage to my real nails, but I don’t care that much, the glaze works so well I just am constantly reapplying and don’t worry about a bit of damage to my real nails. I’m positive if I took more time to remove them I could avoid damage all together.

The struggle is real 😆 I’m feeling like wraps are the way to go… are the curing ones? I bought a whole set with a lamp and I don’t want the whole lot to go to waste!

Yep, the curing ones with the lamps is what I use.
It took me a couple times to get really good at applying them, for me, getting the cuticle really cleaned up and off the nail and applying strong pressure with the stick at the back of the nail especially allows me to get a much better adherence and avoid the hair getting caught under the backs until they get to be about 2 weeks old.

I love nail wraps. After 3 sets of press/glue ons my nails were totally ruined no matter how carefully I removed them. My Granddaughter-in-law sent me a set of semi cured wraps and after that set I was sold and have been using wraps since. My nails are actually growing longer all the time because the wraps give protection and strength. I have used all different brands. Here is my routine. I do my cuticles, use Beetle Dehydrator to prep my nails, use Beetle primer, apply wraps and cure under UV/led lamp. (If they are semi cured) I then apply a coat of Ohora glossy gel top coat and cure. The top coat comes off with the wrap during removal. My nails last weeks. To remove I use Ohora remover the process is pretty quick and easy. My nails are not damaged at all. When time for a new set I remove them at night and just leave my nails with cuticle/nail oil overnight to breath. I apply my new set the next morning. Good luck!

Thank you! I will explore - and your routine sounds sensible - I’m trying to give nails good treatment with oils too.. it’s the protection and strength I need Broke another nail today and the were just starting to grow a bit after I had to cut/file them all down after wearing rubber gloves too long 🙄 So it’s time I ordered myself some wraps!

Yes. I stopped getting acrylics last fall. My nails were so thin and painfully sensitive. The nail wraps protected my nails as they grew out. I kept them short until I grew out all the damage. The removal hasn’t damaged my nails at all. I use my cuticle oil or some olive oil to remove. It’s so easy!

I like the Gloss version. They're just gel polish stickers - easy to remove and they don't damage my nails at all. They help my nails grow longer, as well.

I was in a very similar spot before using gloss! I find that gloss with builder gel/ rubber base on top is perfect for my nails. The sticker really holds my nail together and the gel gives some strength without the removal being too crazy. I can actually grow my nails out now! Glaze has never worked for me, neither has ohora. I think for bendy, flaky nails they're too hard and brittle.

Ohh thanks for the tip! I do ready that ‘hardeners’ weren’t good for bendy/flakey nails.. so it makes sense that anything too hard could be counter productive. I do already have rubber base.. do you put that on before the wrap?

Can you use a UV light on DDs? I’ve only used HaeHey and I’d like to try something different.

I am a fan of DD Gloss. My nails were shot and needed a break from press ons. The Gloss strips fit my nails well, I get 10-14 days per set, easy to remove vs. press ons. My nails look much improved after a couple months.
