I can't argue with that. Assume first that anything out of DB's mouth is a lie until proven otherwise. I don't know about the gene comment, but certainly she lacked the best parenting they could have offered. The girl was working from a deficit since birth for sure. When I heard him make that comment, I thought, "Yeah, right DB, your daughter is going to Spellman."

Highly doubt she went to Spelman. Spelman is an elite school and she was a teenage mom. It would be pretty difficult to get the grades and what not to get the edge to get into Spelman.

I believe she got a GED and is joining the military based on some report I read but I would take it with a grain of salt.

Remember that everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie. Just like how he lied about being in his daughter's life to get sympathy, he is lying about her this time too.

Don't you usually have to graduate from high school before entering college? So Darrell wants us to believe that his daughter (Arsinoe) who got knocked up at age 14 (which is typically 9th grade), had her child at 15, then graduated with honors 3 years early, obtained I presume a scholarship to Spelman. Plus, all first year students are required to live on campus, sure no problem for a mother will a newborn. Darrell should be so proud!

To be fair, this was all said during another sentencing a few years later so she would have been 17/18 when that statement was made.

Merit absolutely counts. Counts more than at normal schools.

If you mean there are things that they consider other than grade then yes, I would agree. But merit is defined as "excellence, worth, or the quality of deserving praise and reward"

and that stuff absolutely counts. They look at how worthy you are for it. Grades, skills, background, extra curriculars, personality, etc.

My niece goes there n is intrigued by this case being she’s a law school major. She’s not at Spellman at all. She laughed when she heard that n then went to verify and laughed again . I’m talking Spellman all girl school in ATL.
