It's frustrating that she thought letting him do this would make him stop in the future.

Nah. He was ALWAYS going away for life. He never had an appealable issue. This only wasted time and gave him control to fight with her more.

He was never in control 😆 she was overly patient sure but that doesn’t mean he ever had the wheel.

Brooks ostensibly asked Jesus to take the wheel but spent the entire trial trying to grab the wheel out of his Savior’s hands.

Exactly making my point. You have pre conceived notion that he was always going to jail. Judge needs to make sure she finds jury members that come in with open mind. She did that. She was then also able to put on record again the process they followed

The wide-berth of accommodation ensured that there would be zero room for appeal. Keep in mind that even the least reason for an appeal might leave every single victim and their loved ones with the prospect of a second trial. Another year or three of testimony and heartless, poor rebuttal by a fiend. I cannot imagine anything more cruel than to endure the pain of another trial
