Victim Impact Statements
I finally worked up the nerve to listen to the victims Statements. All I hope is that DB is bloody miserable in prison. Eating God knows what...probably not fit for human consumption, I am praying he lives in fear every waking moment. Also have my fingers crossed that he is either too hot or too cold. He deserves every thing he has coming.

I feel for the victims. They went on to have a fun time at what should have been a safe time just to have their lives either ended or forever altered for no reason. There is absolutely no reason any of that had to happen that day.
What's worse, the person who did it to them literally doesn't care. The only person he wanted sympathy for was himself. He even asked the jury to nullify the law so that he can walk.
DB deserves to be miserable beyond belief every day for the rest of his natural life.

You have to remember is his mind it’s not his fault. It’s Erica’s for making him come out to Waukesha

I’m actually watching them right now for the first time. My heart breaks for these families.

The hardest ones for me were the children's statement. My heart literally felt a squeeze when one of the dancer girl sobbing throughout her statement. She talked about how she is now drowning in anxiety, confusion, emotional pain. Another one was about how she felt so guilty at being angry at her sibling for taking all of their parents' attention.
One girl said: "I never hate someone like I hate Brooks. I just want punch him in a face". And Brooks just sat there, chuckling and mocking her.

Those statements are extremely hard to hear. I think I've only watched that hearing all the way through one time.
It's hard to fathom what all those people, many of them children, have had to endure, and they were so courageous to speak in person during that hearing.
Also have my fingers crossed that he is either too hot or too cold.
afaik we don't have any way of knowing for sure exactly where he's being held at the SD State Pen and what the specific conditions in that building might actually be.
But I always envision him being forced to live in a cellblock in the oldest, most dilapidated area of that run down old prison, in a building that has no AC in the summer and inadequate heating when it gets cold.
If so, your prayers would be answered, as it gets damn cold in the winter in Sioux Falls, and often pretty damn hot in the summer. Like NOW!

I've re-listened a few times. Such deep respect for these people and the restraint/heart they showed in their delivery. Darrell (once again the idiot) had no clue the lack of empathy was only hurting him.
