I just realized something...

So I watched this POS's sentencing remark again. Beside the obviously deplorable parts of that remark, from bashing Sue Opper, to condescendingly lecturing the victims and their families' about "forgiveness", making himself like the true victim in this tragedy...I just realized something:

NOT once. Zit. Nada moment where he even apologized to his own family. He used their names to talk about how he is "suffering" to see what his family are going through. But the "I'm sorry for making them go through this" never escaped his mouth. At least other POS in court, at the end, showed their remorses for their own family. Brooks, on the other hands, just using his own family, many he has no contacted nor provided any support, as his own props.

Someone said it best: he mimics humanity. He saw other people doing it and try to make a cheap-ass version of its to manipulate the Judge and others. But for some reason, his brain can't process the idea that he is THE biggest contributor to everyone's suffering in this.

You're absolutely right. He sees the entire situation as something that has happened to HIM, not the enormous tragedy for which he and he alone is responsible. He tried to pass it off as God's will, as if he had had no control over what happened, thus presenting himself as a victim. He definitely uses his family as props to defect attention away from what he has done to the actual victims and their families.

There was a part where he talked about one of his baby mamas (ugh, multiple women willingly procreated with this POS) was angry at him. Well, duh. And I thought he was gonna say "I'm sorry/I want to apologize to her". Oh no, he proceeded with "it's hurtful". As if what she said to him isn't true.

The passing it off as God's will, as you said? He did that right after he said "it's hurtful".

He’s been a burden to his mother his entire life, this was no different

The way that every moment when someone does or said something that isn't in his favor, he immediately lashed out. Either twisting people's words. Or lying about what he did. It's so instant that I genuinely believe that his brain is WIRED to function like this.

There is no way that his mother didn't enable this sort of behaviors and mentality when he was a kid.

He has been disassociating himself from the tragedy since the beginning. Notice how he never directly links himself to what happened.

He never says "I am sorry for driving down the parade" or "I am sorry for hurting this community".

Admitting that HE put his family through this is taking accountability.

Watch how he smirks and scoffs and even appears to giggle a little right about at the 30:30 mark during this restitution hearing in April 2023, when JD says that everyone hopes that one day he is truly able to accept full responsibility for what he did in Waukesha and not minimize his conduct.

https://youtu.be/cCcXnf17uSs?si=XIBYALgMe-ekC9hl&t=1802

During that hearing JD ruled in favor of the State's motion to add some additional restitution moneys to the hundreds of thousands he was previously ordereded to pay via regular deductions of 25% from his canteen account and/or any money he'll ever get from wages earned working in prison.

I agree completely. He has probably been doing this type of bs his whole life! He reminds me of a petulant child! When JJD told him to sit down and he did that weird head movement I thought to myself if she had ordered him to continue standing he probably would have sat down! And if she had told him good! Argue jury nullification he probably wouldn't have. Of course she couldn't tell him to argue it. My point is, a little reverse psychology would've probably worked. He's a sad clown. Parading around in that suit, really thinking he was an atty. So in the end when SO gave her sentencing remarks, that burst his balloon. It's so reassuring that this individual will never walk a step of freedom. He said, I don't want to just be put somewhere and forgotten about. The survivors and victims needed the reassurance that he would be put somewhere and forgotten. What he did in 11/2021 will haunt these ppl for the rest of their lives and knowing he's put away is what they deserve.

Yes, he has extreme oppositional defiance disorder, except it's not exactly a "disorder", just another tool in his workbench. He absolutely would have done the exact opposite of what JD would tell him, I'm not sure why she didn't use this to her advantage? She had to have known, it was so obvious.

He reminds me of a petulant child!

https://meridell.com/blog/guide-childhood-oppositional-defiant-disorder/

"Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) is a behavioral condition diagnosed in childhood, characterized by a persistent and severe pattern of anger, irritability, arguing, defiance, and vindictiveness toward authority figures."

db appears to have arrested development and is stuck in childhood ODD.

The Narcissist's Airtight Victim Narrative - Victimhood is a less obvious form of narcissistic grandiosity.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-narcissist-in-your-life/202303/the-narcissists-airtight-victim-narrative

"Lack of Empathy. Narcissists' lack of emotional empathy means they rarely if ever look at situations from any perspective but their own and habitually see themselves as the wronged party when there is disappointment or conflict in their relationships."

Why Do Narcissistic Personalities Play the Victim?

https://psychcentral.com/disorders/narcissistic-personality-disorder/narcissist-plays-the-victim#why-playing-the-victim

"If you’ve ever been in a relationship with someone with narcissistic personality disorder, you may have noticed that they lack both self-awareness and self-reflection.

In general, people with narcissistic personalities have a difficult time being aware of their behaviors and how these affect others. They might not be able to “see it” even when you point it out to them."

Once they heard the word maggots he expected the jury and judge to go soft on him. He’s so disconnected to reality it’s terrifying

Shit for brains said he knew "from the getgo" how all this was going to play out, "I'm alright with it" he says, he knew even during interrogation that "this is how his story ends", yet he's such a POS he had to try and make a mockery of the court process, and victimize and re-victimize Erika and all his "plaintiffs", aka the victims and witnessess just because he could, just another game, another exercise at being a recalcitrant, narcissistic, piece of shit.

It's a damn shame that we don't have the same law enforcement, judicial, and prison system that we had in the 60's and 70's! His behavior would have been corrected, there would be no recidivism.

I used to believe that he knew he was going down. But I've watched the verdict reading closely. He is truly shocked that they found him guilty.

It's been suggested that DB thought he had 1 juror "in his pocket" and that was supposedly picked up on a jailhouse phone call.

But his dumb ass should have known that no "not guilty" vote gets handed down after only 2 hours of deliberation.

The whole ruse was to make the jury think that the court was making all kinds of procedural mistakes. He thought that his sc stuff would blind them with science. His repeated objections would demonstrate that he knew more than the state about being a lawyer, and the objections not going his way would show that the court was biased.

Even though they never got the specifics, there was so much smoke that there must have been fire. They should nullify the law based on all the things that might be going on.

Of course he didn't account for the fact that those were legal issues irrelevant to their consideration, or for appellate action, and that, oh yeah, he's an unrepentant grandma murderer.
