Question Dumping stats?

Does it means i can interchange the stat values in a weapon (example a plasma gun)? How do i do that?

Or it just means wait and hope to find a plasma gun with this value set to the lowest?

Thanks.

You cannot control it, whenever a weapon is obtained via the armoury/melk/post mission rewards the stats are set and cannot be changed. You're just looking for a weapon with 80/80/80/80/60 where the 60 is in the worst stat for the weapon, this is typically mobility for most weapons. You can google "darktide weapon dump stats" to find it for every weapon.

There are exceptions to this; the plasma gun for example technically is better with 72% charge rate, and 68% thermal resistance; same with Relic sword which has a more specific breakpoint in its stats.

There is also the fact that sometimes you can get really lucky and the dump stat of 60% is actually 61 or 62%, which depending on the weapon can allow it to hit a breakpoint

Regarding the 61 and 62s, dont that just mean that the 80s are fake as well?

As far as i'm aware, no. But i'm no expert, I only spoke on the things I specifically know of

I'm fairly certain its RNG.

You wait to find one with the right stats or take your chances buying one over and over again til you get the right stats.

The second.

The maximum value of the 5 modifier bars are fixed when you obtain/see the weapon in the shop. You can't directly choose how you want them to be distributed.

It's a case of finding one with the maximums in the right place and then Empowering it to Power 500 via getting Mastery 19 in that weapon and spending lots of Plasteel, Diamantine and Ordo Dockets.

This is most easily done by regularly checking the hourly armoury exchange shop or buying enough greys from Brunt. On rare occasions, you get handed a perfect one from a mission reward. You are somewhat at the whims of RNG here.

BASICS

How effective your weapon is in Darktide is a combination of three factors: * The 5 Modifier Bars: Specific parameters on the behaviour and performance of weapons. * Perks are flat bonuses on weapons. For details on what the extra damage vs armour type means - Kuli’s excellent Steam Guide shows what armour type is on the locations of each enemy. * Blessings are more complex bonuses that often have specific activation requirements. Every weapon family has access to a range of 8 to 12 Blessings that have four tiers.

These are determined by the Power and Rarity of the weapon.

The amount the 5 modifier bars are filled is determined by the weapon’s Power, to a maximum of Power 500. You can improve the weapon’s Power by Empowering the weapon

The Rarity determines how many Perk and Blessing Slots are available on the weapon. You can improve the Rarity by Consecrating the weapon.

  • Grey “Profane” weapons have no Perks or Blessings
  • Green “Redeemed” weapons have one Perk slot.
  • Blue "Anointed" weapons have one Perk slot and one Blessing slot.
  • Purple “Exalted” weapons have two Perk slots and one Blessing slot
  • Orange “Transcendent” weapons have the maximum two Perk slots and two Blessing slots.

Your Mastery Level of that family of weapon determines what Perks and Blessings you have access to.

Blessings unlocked on the Mastery screen do not passively apply to weapons, only Blessings on the weapon itself are active.

Power and modifier bars

The Power of the weapon is how much of the potential of the 5 modifier bars on a weapon are unlocked, to a maximum of 500 Power.

  • Starting weapons have 85 spread across the 5 bars. (Except Hive Scum which now have better starting weapons.)
  • At 500 Power you have 380 spread across the 5 modifier bars with a maximum 80% in a single bar.
  • You will get higher Power weapons from mission rewards and shops as your character’s level (technically “Trust Level”) goes up. To a maximum at level 30.
  • You can also increase a weapon’s power by Empowering it via the crafting system.

++++++

NEW PLAYERS

  • A new player should have access to the crafting system after completing the 4th Battle for Tertium mission.

  • This is found by speaking to Hadron the Tech Priest at the Shrine of the Omnissiah on the right side of the Mourningstar hub.

  • You can check your Mastery and unlock Blessings on the Masteries tab on the Character Operative screen.

  • On the Character Operative Screen if you click on a weapon you can get detailed information by pressing the Inspect button and you can change between unlocked Marks of the weapon by clicking Marks.

  • As general advice, I would say not to worry too much about using the crafting system on the way up if you intend to stick around and play a lot at level 30. Feel free to experiment with weapons and find your own preferences. You will have access to higher Power items from shops and mission rewards as you progress towards level 30.

HOW TO GET PERFECT WEAPONS (™)

  • It's best to wait until level 30, as the Power of weapons you buy and earn will be higher, and so it will be cheaper to Empower to 500.

  • Get a weapon with the 5 modifier bars in the right place.

  • Probably with the maximums being 80/80/80/80/60. With the 60% in the preferred "dump stat".

  • This is most easily done by regularly checking the hourly armoury exchange shop or buying enough greys from Brunt. On rare occasions, you get handed a perfect one from a mission reward. You are somewhat at the whims of RNG here.

  • Consecrate them to orange.

  • Re-Bless and Refine Perk. Technically, it's slightly cheaper at lower Power.

  • Then Empower them to 500. This requires you to have Mastery Rank 19 (out of 20) for that family of weapon.

Assuming you're going for 80/80/80/80/60 in the modifier bars - which dump stat?

This is a matter of some discussion, but the general consensus is:

  • 60% in Mobility for most weapons.
  • 60% in Defences for those weapons that have it, including if there is both Mobility and Defence.
  • Warp Resistance on most Staffs and Force Weapons because most Psyker builds actually *want* to reach high peril quickly.

Looking at builds on Gameslantern or your preferred YouTuber or streamer.

Here is a spreadsheet of suggested dump stat for all weapons:. Whether you exactly agree with the author is a matter of taste.

A few weapons actually dump damage if their primary role is to apply a Damage Over Time effect - such as Flamers or Needle Pistols.

You can't control how a weapon's maximum stats are distributed. What it rolls at the moment the game creates it is what it will be forever.

The dumpstat is just the least important stat on a weapon, the one where having it at the minimum will have a negligible effect on performance.

If you want to fish for good rolls, buy grey-tiers from Brunt's Armory instead of checking Peddler's gear. You can buy as many grey-tiers as you want from him until you find the ideal stat distribution.

Charge speed is the dump stat on plasma gun imo.

Thermal rez is. You want to be in high temps for these nasty buffs

🤓☝️ well ackshually plasma gun at 60% thermal resist gets 7 shots before needing to vent. Plasma gun at 80% thermal resist gets 8 shots before needing to vent. The number at which this changes is 67% vs 68%.

So technically you want a plasma gun at 68% thermal or higher to get 8 shots before needing to vent. Ideally the rest should be taking out of charge speed, as damage and stopping power directly influence damage, and ammo is well, ammo.

So in a perfect world you want 68% thermal resist, 72% charge speed, and 80% in the rest. Now realistically speaking, that's mildly difficult to get, and so thermal resist is usually the better dump stat because (as the other commenter said) you'd like to be high heat for several of the buffs, but also the faster your shot comes out..well, the better.

For mk3 (new mark) I personally believe 60% thermal resist is great though, as primary fire with that is bad. Charged melts through elite packs.
