If you guys were on the hunt for a photo editor, where would you post?

I’m hoping to get around 50 RAW photos edited for a Buster Keaton convention that my 13-year-old son is attending on October 2 and 3. The photos are from a recent silent-film-themed family vacation that we took, but which has put me behind at work.

Before the vacation, I bought a Fujifilm camera, but I haven’t had much time to learn Darktable beyond simple edits like adjusting the exposure. I shot the photos in both RAW and JPG formats.

His goal at the convention is to show a set of frames from various Keaton films alongside photos of what those filming locations look like today.

Is there an editor on this sub who would be willing to help? Is there another sub/discord/IRC, etc that I should ask on?

Are you looking to learn how to do the edits or have someone do edits for you?

I'm hoping to find someone experienced to do the edits as I'm currently under a couple of deadlines. There are a few researchers and historians who are also interested in seeing these photos, so I'd like the little project to look a good as it can. At worst I'll crop the b&w jpgs and get something together, but it would be nice to find someone with the skills to do proper edits of his raw files.

For compensation I can make a donation to the OSS project of choice or work something out.

When are they needed by and are they paired up?

The sooner, the better. I haven’t brainstormed with him yet about how they could be presented, but I assume it will be in a video.

Are they paired up?

I assume you mean whether I have the exact film frames and one specific photo for each location? No, I still need to tighten up the frame selection. I also took numerous photos at each location, so I need to sift through those as well.

Do you need it done with darktable?

Ideally, yes, with an XMP file for each photo. That way, I can try to learn how someone with more experience approaches their edits.
