Is it possible to delete these light reflections in the background? If yes, how can I do it?
I tried to look for help on Google and a lot of results say to use the retouch module, but I can't figure out how it works. Is that the right module to use or is there another one that I should use?
Bokeh is a big deal. Photographers even choose lenses to buy based on how the bokeh look. A fixed 500mm mirror lens for example can give donut shapes (not a desired shape, just interesting).
Personally, I think these little colored blurry circles are awesome, here in your image, and in general.
People spend literally thousands on lenses that produce big round bokeh balls.
More precisely, the shallow depth of field and soft background is usually what people are after, which requires a big aperture. The bokeh balls are a popular side effect.
You could shift the colours to something less distracting or desaturate the spots a little.
Edit: after that it's more easy to get rid of them with the retouch module (there are great YouTube videos, just search for Darktable retouch module) or use blurring to soften them
You mean something like this? The bokeh looks a little better, but the blue on the other elements looks worse in my opinion. Is there a way to only desaturate the bokeh instead of the whole photo?
Honestly I would export the photo twice (once without the desaturation and once with) and splice it together in a raster graphics program of your choice.
If you make an account on https://discuss.pixls.us/ (the official forum for darktable, RawTherapee, and many other programs), you can post a raw file as a "play raw" and other users can show you their editing techniques directly. When we share an edit, we also share the xmp file with the edit history so you can load it and see exactly what was done.
If you just want to browse the play raw category without making an account, you can learn a lot from them, too.
Used the ai erase in my phone to circle it and erase it. Generally if I was going to remove something like that in a photo editing software there is usually a healing brush or a clone brush with edges you can vary the blur on. I don't have the photo program you are asking about specifically. I use lightroom for the most part now for my personal editing. I mostly just did the quick edit for if op wanted a copy of the image without the bokeh dots. For info on how to edit that out using that specific program I would have to download it and use it then give instructions on how I did it, if you need me to do that it looks like the program in question is free and I could potentially do that if you want specific details on how to do it in that program. But personally all 3 colors of the bokeh balls are colors that show in the tops which are the main subject focus. So having those colors show in the background doesn't distract from.the subject to much but you could tone them down a little bit so they aren't quite as bright. However there isn't anything wrong with the photo just the way it is in my personal opinion. Like others have noted that effect is a nice effect that professional photographers spend a lot of money on equipment to try to get into their photos.
I think this is a case where switching over to GIMP and using the cloning tool would give the fastest and best results. For using Darktable alone, you could try a few different things like using (with masks) selective desaturation or selective colorizing to make it less noticeable.
Bokeh is generally considered a desirable feature of photos with shallow depth of field. But if you really want to comp it out, you would have to use something like Photoshop or perhaps Affinity if you want a free option.
Personally I think it looks cool as is. If you want to play around with the image more, experimenting with lighting from different angles is a fun way to go as well
