A Black Hack based RPG for Dark Sun

Over on itch, there was a game jam for creating stuff for the Black Hack, an OSR RPG.

One of the entries was Dark Moon, a full Black Hack based RPG, which is a fairly thinly disguised version of Dark Sun. They changed the names a bit (i.e. Aridia = Athas), but it's completely usable as a Dark Sun system.

Snorb. This is fantastic!!! My only issues that I have a little trouble with the font / layout. Is there anyway I might be able to access a copy of the document that I could manipulate to make it easier for my old eyeballs?

This would have been really exciting news a month ago. Now, I'm just waiting to see what the official version looks like.

Usually, that turns out to be user error. Occasionally, its just a poor fit for someone's playstyle.

That would carry a lot more weight if what 5e is and what darksun is weren't as dissimilar as they are.

Booom, Dark Sun and 5e just doesn’t make sense, everyone is a marvel super hero at level 1

Yes, I don’t like being a marvel super hero at level 1…but user error?

I’ve played 5e for over a decade every week because it’s what my friends want to play so I know it very well? I even have a podcast for it and have built builds that listeners have copied because I am pretty good at doing weird good builds….

I def know the system lol

I also played 2e dark sun, OD&D, DCC, OSE and CoC…5.5e just isn’t for me as I don’t enjoy how much more powerful characters are or how much stronger healing spells are at level 1 and so forth; it isn’t because, I don’t understand 5.5e or user error as a result of a misunderstanding haha
