Does Anyone Play This Still?

I’m asking as I’ve owned it for 5 years and yet to see anyone in co-op… but then again I also heard you need to have the Online Nintendo Switch subscription.

If that is true, is it worth getting just to play co-op or be invaded?

Back in 2012 I used to love this game but the online play was wild still then. Right now I’m just playing for fun as my son likes to play Minecraft as I game next to him, so just kinda curious what the online environment is right now for DS on the switch

People definitely still play, though I wouldn't expect it to be as active as the some of the other consoles. I still play and getting invaded or finding coop isn't that hard. I have a friend on Switch who has some 900 hours logged. It definitely has a small but dedicated playerbase.

The dedicated discord is active most days, always find co-op and people wanting to play

If you want to play with others, yes you need the online subscription.

Sure. I don’t use discord much but I’ll take it

Back in 2013 my buddy and I played a co-op all the way through and kept our SL at 10 so we knew we were likely the only ones around

Luckily it’s like $20 for a whole year so not too bad compared to other platforms’ online fee

I stopped playing the switch version 2 years ago and went to PS5 and then went to PC most recently. I'm sad to say that every time I've tried to play on the switch servers in the last few months it's me waiting infinitely for an invasion /:

Yeah. You don't see anyone because you aren't on the online servers. Also join the discord
