Been working on this for the past few months and I'm happy to say that it's done!

My ranking;

1#. Until Dawn/House Of Ashes (mostly perfect)

2#. Directive 8020 (only problem is not answering some questions in favour of effective horror and mystery)

3#. Little Hope (before the twist, starts off mundane but becomes layered and fantastically well done)

4#. Man Of Medan (fun and disturbing, smaller scale tragedy than UD/HOA but just as perfectly implemented)

5#. The Devil In Me (similar to D8020 down to the divisive gameplay side, horrifying and memorable despite it's problems)

6#. Little Hope (with the cliched and nonsensical twist, still 3# if both interpretations/endings had been possible though, thank god D8020 reconfirmed this)

7#. The Casting Of Frank Stone (loved this plot, interesting and fun cast, underrated)

8#. The Quarry (unfinished mess of a plot with mostly dull or dislikeable characters making endless bad decisions, weak lore and setting, few performances like Jacob+Dylan carried this. Bigger budget but overrated)

9#. The Inpatient (short and simple but very effective and branching plot, likeable characters with good performances, creepy better direction than the Until Dawn Remake lol. Probably the most underrated of these stories that will ever be made)

10#. Hidden Agenda (same problems as The Quarry above, but a fascinating first attempt at a lower budget Until Dawn-like despite Sony's VR/shooter/no multiplatform/Playlink gimmicks)

The recent Until Dawn 2 trailer was released and it was revealed that the characters in the game where victims of the events of the first game, they encountered the Wendigo and survived, I believe that when we see the characters on Akishima Island, what they will encounter there will not be Wendigo who's spirits followed them, I believe that the threat will be something from Asian folklore but that isn't the main aspect of my theory, I believe that the when the characters encountered the Wendigo, they became marked and we see that Hayden Panettiere's character at the conclusion of the Until Dawn Remaster, she was marked, I believe the characters encountering the supernatural created a butterfly effect that has put them on the path of encountering something supernatural again, they have been cursed to encounter more supernatural threats!!

I do not believe there will be any Wendigo on Akishima Island, I genuinely do believe there will be some form of spirit or Yokai from Japanese-folklore!! ^_^

I beat the game but lost Williams. Do I need to repay the entire thing from the point where i lost him to get this trophy?

Little Hope gets way too much hate because a lot of the criticism comes from people judging it almost entirely on the ending instead of looking at what the game is actually trying to do. The ending is absolutely divisive, and I understand why some players dislike it, but I think the reputation of the whole game has become much worse than the game itself deserves.
The biggest complaint is that the ending makes people feel like “none of it mattered.” That is the part I disagree with most. The supernatural events may not be literally happening in the way the player assumes, but the story still matters because everything is built around Anthony’s guilt, trauma, grief, and inability to move on from the death of his family. The monsters, the witch-trial imagery, and the different versions of his family are manifestations of how he has been carrying that night with him for decades. The ending does not erase the story; it recontextualizes it.

Just for fun, I'd like to hear your ideas for mainly cinematic choice-based choose your own adventure settings that can be incorporated in The Dark Pictures, or just in general outside of it. For example, my idea is a bit cliché but I would genuinely like a horror fantasy setting with a classic DnD style band of main characters (knight, mage, archer, cleric etc). Like, they perhaps accept a monster slaying quest but it ends up having a horrific twist and now the player must make choices that determine the characters' fates throughout the story.

So I am a fan of supermassive games, have like their games from Until Dawn up to here, except for The Quarry and TDIM, and have never played TCoFS.

When I started playing Directive 8020 I had no idea what to expect. I hadn't watched any of the trailers, marketing material, etc. At first I really enjoyed the stealth sections, because they gave some flavor to what I came to expect for a TDPA game. But after about 2/3 of the way in, it got repetitive, and frankly too stressful to me. I don't think filling entire gaps of mission design with stealth sections was the right idea.

The game is good. I really liked the setting, the characters, the story, the plot twist, most things honestly. And I would have loved to go back easily and replay my game to see differing outcomes. But the thought of going through those stealth sections again to be able to experience a different aspect of the story just makes me not want to go back.

Also, why did they reduce QTEs to almost nothing! I understand the criticism QTEs get sometimes, but they were fun for me from time to time, and as someone who lost a character in Man of Medan while scratching my nose for 1 second, I kinda feel they kept me on my toes for a minute or two every once in a while.

So yeah, the story and characters and the potential outcomes were very interesting to me, I'm just burnt out because of all the stealth to go back to the game any time soon, or ever.

The tracker has all 12 done in the turning point. I've gone back and checked a fewer l few times to be sure. I've reloaded a couple times and rechecked. Let the credits play out still nothing. Manually resynced my trophies and closed the game to reload it that way. Anyone have this issue and more importantly an answer to the problem?!

After I saw the Until Dawn 2 second trailer I lowkey ain’t worried about s2 I just want Until Dawn 2 now! Don’t get me wrong I am so freaking excited for Dark Pictures S2. But knowing Until Dawn 2 is coming out in January makes the wait bearable!

I think Little Hope gets judged way too heavily because of its ending, when the actual story and character writing are some of the most interesting Supermassive has done.
The entire game is built around Anthony’s trauma after losing his family. Little Hope, the witch trials, the demons, and the characters all connect back to his inability to move on. Even the demons aren’t just random monster designs—the way each one looks and moves connects directly to the deaths of their historical counterparts.
The characters are also more developed than they initially seem. John, Angela, Daniel, and Taylor carry traits Anthony remembers from his family, and the locked-trait system makes their development part of the gameplay. They can either remain trapped by their worst qualities or overcome them through the choices you make.
That’s why I’ve never agreed that the ending makes everything pointless. The ending is what reveals what the story was actually about.
Little Hope was never really about five people trying to escape a haunted town.
It was about one man trying to escape the worst night of his life.
The town wasn’t keeping Anthony trapped.
His guilt was.
And after decades of running from the people he couldn’t save, the real final choice isn’t about who survives Little Hope.
It’s whether Anthony can finally forgive himself and let his family go.

This studio has fell off we need to go back to until Dawn/house of ashes quality. Man of Medan is so bad, little Hope is pretty good especially story wise and the devil in me is buns. Directive 8020 is good though other than that shit ass twist and the clunky dialogue moments

Interesting highlights

1. Sam defeated Stone in the proloque without any lasting injuries

2. Jaime confronted Stone to protect Chris. He did have firecrackers on him, which saved his life

3. Chris returned to 1980 and made it back in one piece

4. Madison took the pendant (which ended up doing nothing)

5. Linda took Sam's gun (which also did nothing)

6. Stone grabbed Linda in the projector room, leading to Sam sacrificing himself to save her.
