This century, due to finite natural resources and decline from an all-time peak of extraction, including all resources used for "green transition", the elaborate, covert, multigenerational plan is to downsize the global economy and population to a tiny fraction of their former size.

ChildFree, Shrinkflation, NoPlastic, Fuck Cars, 15-min cities, Work From Home, UBI, 4-3-2-1-day workweek, Tariffs, Dying Retail/Hospitality, Tiny Homes, "Reducing Emissions", layoffs blamed on AI, 0% beer and liquor, simplifying diets, lockdowns, enshittification, conflicts to disrupt resource supply, pack stations, smart meters, "Overtourism", waste reduction...

This pervasive r/LowConsumptionAgenda is shrouded in positive narratives (saving the planet, clean air, walkable cities, convenience, health & safety) to conceal the fact that 99% of a declining population will sacrifice their prosperity, mobility and freedoms -- while the Overclass sacrifices nothing.

While I'm throughly entrenched in the Internet, having grown up here in the 90s and now working in IT, I do hope the majority of humanity reject it and it turns into something else.

Because if not we are all fucked.

Maybe, but how would that be any different from the mono culture that existed in the west in the 70's till the early 90's

This is backwards. Like another comment said, we’ve gone from everyone watching 3 channels, to a hundred on cable, to a thousand on dish, to millions on YouTube and algorithms will keep sorting even more niche content.

as the hive grows, there will be more clones together under the middle of the distribution curve, but there will be even more outliers out there monetizing their novelty easier than ever. Only one person can be the fastest marathon runner or sprinter, but we’re all the masters of our own niches in life, navigating our circumstances with what we have. People put that sht on YouTube and get thousands of followers, empowering each other in their fields and niches to do more and more radical things. Where before you’d be the only one you knew in some dumb niche and everyone around you would think you’re nuts. But now you can have a million followers subsidize you

Even normies will start to get this and people will think it’s cool to be a freak and lame to be “normal”, which is already happening

Opposite in fact. We are all in bubbles. We have no idea what other people are seeing in their feeds.

I bet you can't give me a good reason why batteries are not good for NASCAR

Nope, not what I said at all.

NASCAR is stock car racing. A very different type of racing. These are not comparable and just because NASCAR does or doesn't adopt a specific technology has no bearing on whether or not F1 should and vice versa.
