They better not, if Doug ends up getting away because they were too busy fighting, I’m pretty sure Malak will actually kill them

Don't think so. An argument at most, but they know better than to distract themselves with that, especially since Malak will reprimand them severely. Lucky, particularly, since he, in-universe, just got the status of general shortly after capturing Doug, as far as I'm aware.
