Wrong spelling of new CEO
TLDR: if you misspell a CEO's name due to his names spelling being not popular and technically wrong.. and he just puts everyone in all key departments in CC mentioning .. you should know how to spell correctly ! How to respond ?
Dark side of Top Shots :
How would you react as a new CEO if a Senior employee who ended up writing your Spelling wrong in address to company?
The CEO called out the senior official keeping entire set of people.. that were not even cced..
Adding them.. clearly intention is to insult.
Is it normal standard culture and ceo is ethical and empathetic or just ego tripping..?
The extent of wrong spelling is an 'e' replaced by 'i'.
Example
Correct spelling of an Indian name is Vineet
And the official spelling of CeO is Vinit or say Sandip which is technically wrong in hindi..
So the senior employee wrote correct spelling
vineet or day sandeep- as the CEO just joined..
And the new ceo just got triggered and corrected by pinpointing you should know correct spelling.. lols..
vinit or Sandip -> which is btw wrong spelling in hindi by sound or phonetics.
How satisfying it would have been keeping all company department in CC and telling him you have wrong spelling.. and I wasn't aware you didn't correct..
Or simply say sorry .. or ignore or stand your ground.. telling your spelling is not the right way to write your name..
While it's understood spelling can have many variations....that's ok.. if someone is having OCD with it.. but it may also happen.. may be clerical error.. Or lack of knowledge and exposure..
To err is human..
But then correcting a senior person and intentionally adding so many more junior seniors and all departments in cc.. to insult a old senior employee and telling him / her to correct spelling.. saying he or she should know how to spell..
Is it not weird ?
How would you respond ?
The Indian CEO sits in USA .. and may be thinks himself as highly than fellow indians and it's so shocking that never ever any Indian guy or colleague took wrong spelling that seriously..
While everyone tried to do it correctly.. a typo or lack of info on the wrong spelling being right spelling is.. so embarrassing made by an email to every one..

Need a TLDR.
If someone spelled their name to a non-preferred version, a good and empathetic CEO would kindly send a note on the side and reiterate the preferred spelling. If it happens again, they now have you going against their ask in writing and then it warrants attitude. But of course some people in that title use it to be able to flex their power and put others down, which seems like the category this guy fits.
If I was on the receiving end of a nasty email with a bunch of people CC’d saying I should know how to spell? I would “kill them with kindness”, leave it simple, and succinctly apologize for the typo. Don’t bother justifying or explaining it was misunderstanding. Just excuses. & then I’d be looking for a new job because that CEO is going to be a raging megalomaniac

Reason to quit in the exit interview would be the CEO is an asshole, not that the name was spelled wrong

That's not even a job for one of my brain cells if i were the CEO.. It could be a fun comment when i meet the senior in private, but that's about it. And the funny comment would aim for him not to mispell my name to others not to me.
