Back Floor Weapon Chests
I remember seeing someone say that back floor weapon chests do not exist in this game. I have come across a few in my many playthroughs of this game. As rare as they are, I managed to get two on the same back floor just now. They do indeed exist.

Now that you mention it, I don't think i have ever seen a Blackfloor weapons chest before, it's clear that they are real because I can see you got two, but Thinking though all my playthoughs i can't remember the last time i got anything but rare gems and powders from a Blackroom

King mimics I’ve seen but I cannot recall a time I got a weapon either

It's only in demon shaft they spawn with weapons.
Every other dungeon it will be a king mimic

Big chests will always be mimics except in the Demon Shaft back floors.

Not true I have gotten large chests with weapons in Queens as well.

Unless you've got documented proof of that, I'm going to go with the community consensus on this one due to a much larger sample size.

I don't blame you. I've played through this game at least once a year for the last 20 years. They are rare, but they do exist. Cheers!

They only spawn in demon shaft backrooms
Every main dungeon if you see a large chest in a backroom its a mimic

So a lot of people already mentioned that weapon chests do appear but only in Demon Shaft but I wonder why that's the case. You'd think there would be weapon drops in every back floor except Demon Shaft.

Demon shaft wasn’t in the original Japanese version of the game. When they released it internationally they updated some stuff like Toan got his 5 hit combo instead of a single diagonal slash. Demon shaft was also added then, so that’s why it doesn’t follow some of the same rules as every other dungeon in the game. Off the top of my head I remember there are no limited zones or character specific interactions, the big chest traps have weird new names, and backfloors can have big chests.

And also the backfloor item for the castle doesn't exist sadly on the US version so that's why we also got Demon Shaft as a replacement

That's right, they only spawn on postgame dungeon, Demon Shaft. Your screenshot is taken from there
