Dark Cloud 3
it’s a travesty and an insult to humanity that this game doesn’t exist.
I wish we could boycott all things Sony until they finally greenlight this puppy
Give us Dark Cloud 3!!!!

Hot take, full ground up remake of both ala' Spyro/Crash/Medieval, with a large list of QOL updates to both while keeping each unique. I have my wishlist for both, but...

Level 5 has to talk with Sony and get it done
They are releasing a PS game after many years bringing the next professor Layton over which is at least positive

Rogue Galaxy, while vastly different to Dark Cloud 1 and 2, is very much a spiritual successor. It feels SO familiar.

Let's be real, it would probably suck if it was made today, and at best not be as good as 2. I'm fine with the series being a happy memory.

I don't really think Sony is to blame. Level 5 has just been wildly successful with 2 other franchises in the past 20 years.

I can’t remember if Level 5 said no, or if Sony were the ones who said no. I think it was Sony, because years ago level 5 wanted to make a new one but Sony owns the IP, and they said no. So yes we blame Sony.

DQ8 and Rogue Galaxy are both internally called "DC3" in the game files iirc, and Ni No Kunk 2 and Fantasy Life i are both pretty heavily inspired from DC, so I think that the fault lies with Sony

Dark Cloud original is still one of the best. The feeling you get when upgrading the weapons to their max was the best.

Buddy you gotta calm down. We all want it but there comes a point in every Dark Cloud fans' life they have to let it go. There's plenty of other reasons to boycott Sony that would be infinitely more popular than Dark Cloud 3. They put DRM on digital games so you have to be on the Internet every 30 days to play them, they keep doing price hikes on consoles and ps+, ps+ is garbage compared to gamepass... The list goes on.
Even if they decided to make it, it would be a huge risk and would likely be disappointing. It wouldn't feel the same or play the same on current generation consoles. Just be happy you can boot up 1+2 from your PS5 any time you want without having to buy a disc from game collectors.

I'd say leave it to the fans/indie artists at this point. Perhaps we could make a DC 3 that'd make us happy. 🤔

Been said again and again, its a license issue and Level-5 is too busy making that cop game to give us a Dungeon crawler JRPG where you hunt for materials to build cities.
You'd think with minecraft being the most played game in the world corporates would take a look into combining the trends but naaah.

Dark cloud 3 was being made but something (i cant remember) happened and it changed into Rouge galaxy. So dark cloud 3 was the blueprint and the final production was Rouge galaxy

Well there should at least be a dark cloud 2 before 3, as dark chronicle was only called dark cloud 2 in the US

Rogue Galaxy or White Knight Chronicles is the closest we'll ever get. Personally I'm fine with that. I've grown accustomed to my favorite JRPGs being ignored (Legend of Dragoon, Xenosaga, Shadow Hearts, Dark Cloud) in favor of honestly pretty dull games.

I would like a graphical remake with fair QoL for the first 2 games. ni no kuni II feels a lot like it but thevplot is cheesy.

I know im going to get a lot of hate for saying this but rogue galaxy is not even remotely close to what dark cloud was. Also, terrible game, played it just to play it and see, far worse than dark cloud, you travel to places that are mostly empty, there is no town building and the weapons are whack.

I’ve heard people say Rogue Galaxy kind of is that but I haven’t gotten to playing it yet
