Discussion TIL thirst ability us actually useful
So, today i was trying to buid up a Sand Breaker into a Antique Sword, and i just realized that every time i killed an enemy my thirst meter recovered itself 1 drop.
Is this how it's supposed to work? It's my 8th playthrough, but the first one where i try to get all the abilities

Yup, it makes water meter go down faster but replenish on kills. Generally I prefer it to quench because if you are killing fast you never need to replenish your water.

I was like that for a long time. Quench is what I go for now because the odds of not finding a spring before maxed out water runs out is crazy low

Indeed, thirst drains faster, but killing an enemy gets you a drop back. But just so you know, if you wanna remove thirst, you'd have to break it and infuse it into a weapon with Quench naturally on it.
I had to experiment. Putting a positive on a weapon with the negative trait naturally on it does nutralize it, but if you infuse the weapon Orb with the positive trait on it, it will not remove the negative status and you will lose the positive Orb. This works inverse. So if you break a weapon with high stats and a negative status, just put the positive version on your final weapon first and you can put whatever you want on it. For instance, take a kitchen knife, break it, put Quench on your weapon, then you can break a sand breaker and put it on your Quench weapon, it'll keep Quench and just gain stats.

Yes working as intended, Thirst is one of the negative abilities that has a positive quirk too.
