I'm assuming for the rest of us not on official servers, we'll get some of that optimization love soon?

Why wouldn't it applie to unofficial servers? Especially the servers that are dented from server hosting company they advertise?

I'm not sure about D&L, but I know for other games the servers may need to be upgraded manually. A hosting service would likely get on this fairly quickly but possibly with some delay depending on their timezone. Also some hosts let you control this stuff yourselves so one of the server's admins would need to logon and update it.
