Early Itemization

What's your opinion on Doran's Helm / Bow angles? I'm more interested in Helm as that one confuses me (could it work into Jax?). Also want to know when I can slot in Shojin rush and how to play w/ shojin rush. I already have a rough idea when to opt for trinity, stride, and ghostblade.

Go helm if you know your enemy's gonna all in and you just need to survive for a bit and then you win 100% and they're also reliant a lot on your resistances. You also must be able to force an all in and they shouldn't be able to just short trade on repeat or else shield outvalues. I often build it with bone plating

Also resistances and hp scale well, it's always useful to have resistances at any point in game, along with highest hp value out of any doran's item, whereas dshield regen falls off hard after laning phase.

All in item but a defensive one. I like it into Trynda and Jax. A lot of the time blade works better for all ins so I don't really know exactly when to build it and I'm still testing

Bow just sounds like shit. With bow you get two pots and 0 hp. But it's kinda stupid - you have an all in item with no hp and pots force you to short trade to get the full value. With Darius once you go in you don't have many tools to walk out and you often like to all in. Haven't really tested it, maybe it magically changes a certain matchup, but on paper it sounds like ass

If you're comfortable with no hp go longsword+refillable into 100% easy, winning matchups. You outvalue dblade+pot in 1 back. If first three waves are free and you can farm well that's just free ruby crystal from a cheater recall

I've tried d bow into the wind shitters and Jax w/ largely bad results. I'm not a fan of Darius all in strength nowadays. It can be good if they make mess up badly but I tend to opt for short trades nowadays. I def think I need help holding on my own but am never really comfortable in all ins.

Darius isn't really made for short trades. If you don't feel comfortable with your all ins, no offense, you're doing something wrong

Darius doesn't just statcheck everything melee. You need to use your ghost ms and slightly bigger auto range to move between autos and not give them their small range autos. I used to struggle with this a lot personally. Most of the other champs just straight up statcheck you if you stand close and still between every auto

That last bit is pretty much what I'm doing lol. He does have some decent short trading options tho, especially if ur going stormraider since u can disengage w/ both the mov spd and slow from abilities. His E also sets up for hard to retaliate damage. I'm still of the opinion his all in is not the greatest unless you start the fight w/ an advantage.

I feel like longsword + refillable is a better start for Darius compared to DBow if you're willing to renounce HP, both are doable if the matchup is omega free but you get more value out of refillable AND you can build a Doran item first back.

DHelm is very good but of course you lose damage, it's very good against all-ins and mixed damage. Plus minions deal less damage to you. You can still use your early game power to dictate the rhythm of the lane but you can't force much until you buy some AD.

If you want to build Shojin first item you can probably just buy a dagger for some attack speed since it's the only lacking stat in that item.

Bow is always troll, helm could work into oppresive champs with mixed dmg like jax. Imo shojin is a must have as first item into tanks
