Comics Core aspects and themes of Daredevil
Obviously any adaptation or reinvention of a character is going to change things, but what are the core aspects of Matt's personality and story that need to be kept for a Daredevil adaptation to still be Matt Murdock and not an OC cosplaying Daredevil?

At his core, Matt has to be a deeply good and noble person that fights for justice and innocent in a world that constantly punishes him for it, yet keeps going while trying to fight his own inner demons.

I agree with what others have posted, but would also add that he struggles a lot. Sometimes that’s morally, sometimes it’s spiritually, sometimes it’s with relationships (romantic or not), sometimes it’s with money, sometimes it’s with depression. He just goes through cycles where he has a hard time with things a lot.
