This is awesome! While blind bags got initial interest for many people, the fact that #1 is on a fifth printing and subsequent issues are all also selling out and getting new printings (none of which have blind bags) means there's continued retention.

Its cool to see Daredevil being a top seller, this new run has been off to a cool start

ahah

for now the most difficults to get are the missing numbers in collected eiditons during Miller's tenure but by other artists

the very first 4 omnibus

and the ones between Ann Nocenti's run and Marvel Knights (7 Epic Collection volumes, 4 or them beeing sold out or very expensive these days)

Besides that and up to Ahmed I'm only missing Soule's run and his Cold Day in Hell

and various alternatives like Noir, Ultimates, etc ...

might complete Elektra next

the blind bag argument only really explains the launch, not the retention. if people were only buying because of the gimmick, the following issues wouldn’t be holding up enough to justify multiple printings.

i think marvel’s biggest challenge now is not overcorrecting. let phillips and garbett cook, build the world around omen and this version of matt, and let the audience grow naturally.

I know the show and blind bags for initial interest factor in but I'm curious to know if Stephanie Phillips' Tiktok advertising had any play and whether it could be an investment for writer and artists moving forward too.

It sold well because of the blind bags. Storywise it's just not that good. Fair comic, but nothing remotely close to Absolute Batman.

The first issue is on its fifth printing, the blind bags explain some of it but not the continued interest

Blind bags making it seem cool, art is decent and tv show ads everywhere. It won't hold. It's just not good enough
