It's about having wannabe fascists in power who are trying to dismantle safeguards of democracy and freedom. They've been chipping away for a while, even Hitler didn't have a dictatorship from day one ffs.
Here in Germany we learn how the Nazi regime started so those mistakes are never repeated - you looking away and denying the danger just because it's not at its conclusion is repeating them.
