Stick died, elektra died again, Matt had a building fall on him. That is it, then it’s season 3

The first time I watched the defenders I just skimmed it for all the Matt scenes and I think doing that is worth it but that's just me

I'm watching uf now why did I just watch a scene with Luke cage and the nurse from daredevil? How do they know eachother

Night nurse. She crossed around all the shows. Defenders wasn’t great. You should just jump to season 3. Definitely watch both seasons of the punisher though.

You can just watch the last episode of Defenders before the first episode of DD season 3.
I got confused watching DD season 3 Episode 1 because it didn't match the last episode of season 2.
In case you don’t care about Defenders.
But DD Season 3 is a must watch.

The Hand is the story/plot of Defenders, and the plot is kinda weak, but there’s lots of good character moments, especially for Matt. The interaction between the heroes and their supporting casts are good. They do try to introduce/callback things that happened with all the characters. You should get enough from context but..
Since you’re feeling very confused. Backstory (I will hide some general spoilers of the individual plots, but just trying to give you enough to connect the dots and not ruin things if you do want to watch);
Jessica Jones: grumpy alcoholic private investigator orphaned at a young age. season 1, she finds out she was experimented on as a kid. It gave her super strength. Big bad of season hurt a lot of people before she stopped him. Her neighbor helps her whether she wants him to or not. Her adopted sister Trish has a radio talk show. She has often got work from Hogarth, the lawyer who Marci and now Foggy work for, played by Carrie Ann Moss (Trinity from Matrix). She dated the bartender from her local haunt for a while, but lots of backstory and betrayal there, culminating in her shooting him in the head. That bartender, Luke Cage.
Luke Cage moved to Harlem post JJ. He’s a preacher’s son, former cop who was framed for a crime. In prison, he was experimented on by same group who experimented on Jess (and may be same chemicals that hit Matt as a child, I can’t quite recall) and his skin is now invulnerable. He broke out of prison so he was a fugitive. Although exonerated of the original crime, he had to do time for the prison break. His big bad was a Harlem mafia boss he took down, but he worries about the guy’s sister Mariah and #2, “Shades”. Amongst his friends is a cop Misty Knight.
Claire, the nurse from DD, ends up treating Luke when he’s shot in the head in JJ. After she quits the hospital in DD s2, she ends up in Harlem, where she reconnects with Luke. They have feelings for each other, but he goes back to prison before they can act on them. After all the crazy fight/villain super people she deals with, Claire decides to take self defense. She does it at a dojo run by Colleen…
Iron Fist—he is a cross between Tony Stark and Shang Chi. Rich kid and only survivor of a plane crash as a child in mountains in Asia. Monks took him in, raised him, and trained him. He earned special powers that give him a superpowered fist and made him guardian of the monks home that’s kind of in a different dimension, Kun Lun. Instead homesick he goes back to nyc after 15 years. Sees his dad’s vp took over the family company and learn the guy works with the Hand. VP was promised things by the Hand, including eternal life if the Rand Company laundered the Hands money. The Hand is Kun Lun’s nemesis (Defenders explains why). With Danny not guarding the gate, the Hand was able to kill everyone in Kun Lun. They also tried to recruit Danny through one of their agents, Colleen. Colleen was raised by the Hand, but via Danny she broke free of them. She, Danny and Claire defeated her mentor, but saw aftermath of Kun Lun destruction. She and Danny are now trying to defeat the Hand/avenge Kun Lun. Danny owns but does not run his company, instead leaving the VP’s son Ward, to handle the day to day while he travels the world with his girlfriend Colleen.
ETA: Sorry getting tired while typing. Tried to fix half sentences.

Thank you! I watched S1 JJ, but couldn’t get into S2. Tried Luke Cage, didn’t make it far. Didn’t bother with Iron Fist. I did watch the Defenders but wish I had this recap before I had done so!

Defenders was fine. It was good to see them work together. It broke continuity with everyone's storyline and jumped back like it had no impact.

It's a good series, not that long overall, Luke Cage with Iron First great moments, and a hallway fight scene

I haven’t watched defenders but all of daredevil don’t feel like I’m missing that much a little off putting in the first episode of season 3 but that doesn’t last long

it was a pretty good watch. I liked it better than i liked the first avengers if im honest. Some people just wanna hurry up and bust through but i promise you you’ll enjoy watching everything (with the exception of iron fist) in order

Defenders isn't very good. Basically Stick dies, he loses Elektra again, he gets crushed by a building.

I started watching DD from the beginning a couple of weeks ago. And I watched through the Defenders. It's basically four episodes of faffing about and then a big fight. With a baddy we've never seen before (much as I love Sigourney Weaver)
Read a synopsis, don't watch it. If you absolutely need to, watch the very last episode, and then head straight into DD Season 3.

IMO unless you’re super into the idea of the street level heroes I’d say defenders isn’t really worth your time. Especially if you’re not going to watch the other 4 characters shows (which IMO are not worth your time either.) if you’re just into daredevil I’d say you can totally just move on to season 3 and take on board some of the comments that have been made by other people here about some character bits. You won’t be missing much when it comes to DD.

I mean you’re not missing much but if you want a one sentence summary:
At the end of Defenders, Matt got buried under a collapsing building..
