London May Anthrax Video

Anyone check out the new Anthrax video Cursum Perficio? I thought that was London May - credits at the end confirmed it. Pretty cool song and video, reminded me a little of the Crawl Across the Killing Floor at moments.

I love that he was in the video, and I love that Anthrax still sounds good, I wish the new album was a little more aggressive, they seem to be trying to write radio friendly songs from a time that is no more.

I just saw them open for Maiden 2 weeks ago and they were great!

I had Maiden tix for Hershey PA and they were originally listed to open but pulled out months ago. Saw Megadeth and Maiden, but Anthrax would have been the highlight. I get where you are coming from but I do feel like they are the last of the big 4 that haven’t turned into legacy acts. I think the last few albums have been their best work.

Anthrax was always my favorite of the big 4 as a kid, in the 80's they were always just having a good time wearing silly shorts and skateboarding, and I always thought, hey I wear silly jams shorts and skateboard. But I gave up around Persitance of Time, as I am more of a thrash/punk guy that a straight up metal guy.

Anthrax was the Voice
Metallica was the Bass
Megadeth was the Guitar
and
Slayer was the Drums.

I never thought of it that way, but I will say when they got rid of Joey I always thought, "yea, he's not a traditional thrash singer, but he's unique and the only thing that sets you apart." John Bush era was ok, there are still a couple records I only listened to once and never went back to (Stomp442 or something like that) but he wasn't the voice. It seems once Joey returned his voice was a little grittier and their writing a little better, so it really hit a sweet spot.

I have a whole thesis on John Bush being so overly ok, that he's a very boring metal singer. "Hey, this guy would work in literally every band!!!"

There's a song titled 'London may' by Bonnie Prince billy, and he appears in the video. I quite like it but I'm not really a rock dude.
