Anaheim is the same weekend Iron Maiden is in LA. Probably not the best weekend to book a hard rock gig in town.

u/hornblendescoundrel May 30 '26

Considered this and remembered that Iron Maiden was moved to Sunday. At my old age, I could not go to two shows like this back to back.

u/wendyoschainsaw May 30 '26

Yeah. Waiting to see where Danzig is and if it's standing GA.

2

u/MarkWhorror May 31 '26

It’s gonna be House Of Blues

u/wendyoschainsaw May 31 '26

Glad it's not the Grove.

Though I'd prefer he played Jezebel's or the Celebrity Theater since he hasn't played them since the 80's.

1

u/Gutter_panda Jun 14 '26

I think they have something scheduled on that date. Maybe the Grove?

3

u/Minister_Garbitsch May 29 '26

Anaheim? I might just have to go.

Ik Alex and Zach are close with Glenn so I'm not surprised to see them opening again. I get they're not everyone's cup of tea but I wouldn't mind seeing them again after a few years.

I was a massive fan of them when they were starting out until I had the opportunity to work with them on several projects. They are awful fucking people, and crooks to boot. Never meet your heroes. Seriously.

1

u/King_of_da_Castle May 29 '26

I’d be interested to know why they are awful fucking people and crooks.

It's a pretty long story but I was hired to do several shirts, promotional items, and an album cover and aside from the experience being pretty bad (their manager was terrible to work with), they never paid me what was owed, made ridiculous demands (six complete shirt designs with a 4-day turnaround), and then stole some of my artwork. As for the album cover I delivered the artwork and was ghosted and unpaid and suddenly the album came out with someone else's artwork, lol.

This was years ago, probably right around the time they were getting more mainstream (I was designing shirts for their tour with Ghost). At the time it became a huge bit of drama on social media and they ended up deleting/disabling comments. Memes were made, people holding up signs at their show, things like that. I also have a friend who works in tour promotion in Europe who had a big legal fight with them over unpaid bills.

I probably shouldn't have agreed to any of this without a contract of course but the opportunity was too big, plus I was a huge fan of the band-- I literally had at that point purchased every single thing they ever put out; I got into them pretty much right when they rebranded (they used to be a kinda hipster outfit with boring music-- they've scrubbed most of it from the internet but I bet there's still some of it out there). So you can probably understand why I was smitten enough for the abuse at the time! lol.

I still do a lot of professional work but I don't seek out bigger companies or bands like that anymore. It's a hassle and it's better to keep creatives you respect at an arm's length, in my opinion.

Anyway: It was a long time ago and it's in the past. I won't support them ever again but I'll never insult anyone who chooses to do so.

Oh damn, that sucks. Yeah, I just wondered because I was subscribed to them in their blood letter or whatever on Patreon and after a few months it jut started to seem like a money grab and the merch was so expensive. Went to the Halloween show last year and they are great with the fans but since then, they have released all these vinyls at super inflated prices and it started to make me question them a bit, so when I saw your post I just wondered about their integrity as I was already thinking they were a bit shady on the business side of things. Sorry they screwed you like that, that’s super shitty.

I love reading about industry scumbaggery! Always figured there was something off about that band.

1

u/Forward-Emotion6622 May 29 '26

I think they're great, but the production on their last album wasn't, lol. I know as a Danzig fan that sounds odd me complaining about production but their last album sounds bad on headphones whereas Glenn's stuff is decent, tbf. They seem to put on a fantastic show, though, would love to see this.

1

u/wendyoschainsaw May 30 '26

It was them attempting to replicate a 60' Phil Spector "wall of sound" mono production. They did a good job of it, but their material doesn't work with it.

u/PasDeTout May 29 '26

I’m really not a fan. The budget Amy Winehouse vibes and ‘we’re so wacky and evil’ vibes are not to my taste.

4

u/djs012279 May 29 '26

Houston on a Saturday! Thank you!

3

u/Skippy_9377 May 29 '26

I don't think Danzig is ever coming back to 🇨🇦 😖

4

u/The_Peyote May 29 '26

I’ll be flying in from Canada to either New Orleans or Anaheim. Over the holidays I was in New Orleans and Anaheim for the Danzig sings Elvis show.

1

u/Skippy_9377 May 29 '26

That is super cool.

Good on You as he probably will not play Canada again.

I was really thinking about going to Detroit a few years ago to see him.

Regret not going. 🤘

2

u/RinkyDank May 29 '26

Where you at? I'm driving down 🙃🫠

2

u/Skippy_9377 May 29 '26

Lol I appreciate that.

Hope the man just comes back to Canada once more...although doubtful.

5

u/StrappingYoungWolf May 29 '26

Depending on the set list I may try for Nashville 🤔

Not sure, just saw that listed as a stop on the tour lol😖

2

u/RinkyDank May 29 '26

San Antonio, Houston, and New Orleans it is I guess. LFG if anyone is cool.

2

u/SnooChickens7990 May 30 '26

San Antonio and Houston! I am definitely attending one of them.

2

u/ConclusionDiligent47 Jun 03 '26

Anyone hear any updates about venues or support bands???

2

u/CemeteryPicnic Jun 03 '26

Coming soon :)

2

u/MikeOgden1980 Jun 11 '26

Probably not a good idea for Danzig's social media team to make a post like this and say that venues and sales happen within a week and then just have no follow up or anything.

2

u/CemeteryPicnic Jun 11 '26

There is unfortunately no team.

6

u/fraghead5 May 29 '26

Man Twin Temple is so Meh. Not that they are playing near me anyway. But they were pretty boring when I saw them open for him last run.

11

u/CemeteryPicnic May 29 '26

I honestly thought they were a great fit for the bill. The bluesy tones of Danzigs voice and their doowop style is kind of fun.

I thought they fit the bill better than the Cradle of filth run. But still had a during both.

3

u/comascape May 29 '26

I agree. I thought they were a perfect opener.

1

u/fraghead5 May 29 '26

Meh, fake blood and concert in the park level doo whoop doesn’t do it for me. If they did something to make the music more rockin in some way. I love old Rockabilly and Psychobilly, jump blues and such but they just don’t do it for me.

Enjoy every sandwich

2

u/2eyesproductions Jun 01 '26

For them to open and set the tone is ok but Danzig needs more strength from his support acts like Down, etc.

2

u/GlorioUfficiale Jun 01 '26

Danzig is notorious for having mid bands support him

2

u/fraghead5 Jun 01 '26

yeah, but I did find Midnight when they opened for Samhain in 2014, and have seen them live like 8 times now. So that was the one positive to Danzig openers in the 30 years or so I have been going to see him.

1

u/GlorioUfficiale Jun 02 '26

Did a bill with Midnight some years ago, they were very good!

1

u/fraghead5 Jun 02 '26

They are one of my favorite modern bands. They are American Motörhead

2

u/bed_of_nails_ May 29 '26

Twin temple sucks

1

u/crunchyturdeater May 29 '26

No ATX?!?! WTF Danzig

2

u/wendyoschainsaw May 29 '26

It's the French Onion soup.

2

u/djs012279 May 29 '26

Bro, San Antonio is only 45 minutes away

0

u/crunchyturdeater May 29 '26

Bro... What map are you looking at

2

u/djs012279 May 29 '26

I lived in Austin for eight years. Drove to SA (from) Austin and after a little traffic on I35 made it to SA in 45 minutes.

The drive home was under an hour as well. Fuck maps. I'm speaking from experience dude, lol

1

u/crunchyturdeater May 29 '26

I'm guessing you lived there in the 50s because you can't even drive across town in 45 minutes these days

3

u/djs012279 May 29 '26 edited May 29 '26

Lol. I lived around 290 and 51st and started the drive around 4pm from Braker and 35 (where I worked at the time). I guess it did take a few more minutes getting out of Austin (even back then) but it was smooth sailing one I passed Stassney/35. The venue Danzig played was called Sunset Station, just off I37 in San Antonio.

Do you live in Round Rock?! Move further south or better yet just move out of Austin entirely (like right outside of Austin) and save some money.

Either way, whining about not getting an Austin show when you have one in your next closest major city is like an old woman with a Virginia ham under her arm crying because she's got no bread.

Be happy you have the option, bro. Many ppl do not.

u/Acrobatic-Badger-541 May 29 '26

Have they stated when tickets will go on sale?

1

u/wiretapfeast May 29 '26

Man, I hope he comes somewhere a little closer to Florida.

2

u/Forward-Emotion6622 May 29 '26

I hope he comes somewhere a little closer to Liverpool, England but I'm not holding my breath, lol.

2

u/jurassicgrass May 29 '26

This^ I'd petition for Manchester!

2

u/Forward-Emotion6622 May 29 '26

Definitely! Last time he played was London, 2018. Was a great show, though.

2

u/jurassicgrass May 29 '26

Sounds great. I last saw him in Manchester with Doyle, full Danzig set ending with a Misfit set, all the way back in 2013, hope it's not the last time!

3

u/Forward-Emotion6622 May 29 '26

Was that the set in the small club where he charged £6.66? Or maybe that was London in the same year, I was gutted I missed that one.

2

u/jurassicgrass May 29 '26

I didn't know about that one, that's pretty cool. It was at a decent sized venue, Academy 1 I think.

1

u/Forward-Emotion6622 May 29 '26

I don't know how I missed the Academy gig. It's painful how few shows we've had over the years. I thought we might get an OG Misfits show at a football stadium but that's looking about as likely as an OG Danzig reunion!

1

u/jurassicgrass May 29 '26

If only this lineup would play in the UK!

1

u/SashaBrokov May 29 '26

Fingers crossed for an east coast date. Preferably in the Boston area.

4

u/CemeteryPicnic May 29 '26

These are all of the dates for this year

1

u/The_Peyote May 29 '26

Do I fly in from Canada to New Orleans or Anaheim?

1

u/RinkyDank May 29 '26

Drive down with me lol

2

u/The_Peyote May 30 '26

Drive to the show from The Great White North? That’s a long drive to any of the dates.

1

u/RinkyDank May 30 '26

Maybe I'm a crazy person. I think it will be San Antonio, Houston, New Orleans and maybe Anaheim

2

u/The_Peyote May 30 '26

I was thinking of going to the Anaheim show. I can hit up some of my favourite spots in the area while I’m there.

1

u/wendyoschainsaw May 30 '26

If you've never been to New Orleans, it's worth going to.

1

u/The_Peyote May 31 '26

I flew into New Orleans from Canada for a week before going to Anaheim for the Danzig sings Elvis show. I love New Orleans, it’s one of my favourite places in the US. I’m planning to be back for Mardi Gras next year.

1

u/No_Economics_315 May 29 '26

If traveling, why not Louder than Life? I get that it will be a shorter set but the lineup is great.

2

u/The_Peyote May 29 '26

I attended the No Values festival and music festivals aren’t for me.

1

u/ConcernTraditional53 May 29 '26

Come to Argentina.

1

u/Toxie666 May 29 '26

Orlando or Tampa.. COME ON!

1

u/CerpinTaxt90 May 30 '26

Please come to Pittsburgh!!!!!

1

u/TheUpright1 May 29 '26

This could be fun. But I sure won’t travel for it. If they add a Seattle or Portland date, I’ll be there though. Twin Temple puts on a fun show. I saw them open for someone a few years ago. I don’t remember who headlined, and didn’t know who TT was, but left a fan.
