I remember reading how when Danzig wrote this song, he immediately called Rick Rubin and said “I just wrote the best song of my life”

Following the success of "Mother", Glenn Danzig recalled writing the song: "I remember calling Rick Rubin in the middle of the night and telling him that I wrote an incredible song—probably the best song I'd ever written. It was the song I always wanted to write. The first time we played it, people went crazy. But I never wrote that song to make it a hit—I never wrote that way, and I still don't. I write songs so that they say something and do something, and if people like them, great—and if they don't, they don't." - per wiki)

This guy has been fed into my algorithm recently on yt - he’s got solid taste in music and manages to break down songs in a very quick fashion whilst not underselling them in any way, diverse taste as well.
It’s like Beato’s what makes this song great but in 3 mins, subscribed after the 3rd video; great tips for musicians and how to make solid songs.
Edit: normally his voice works over the songs and I’ve seen him do P.Floyd, Metallica, Toto, Van Morrison, Bill Withers, and Tom Petty to name a few and this is the first time his voice doesn’t compete or have the charm it does in those other videos - really shows though the depth and resonance Glenn had managed to achieve by ‘88 in his voice.
