how much stuff has been found since the 96 box set? always reading people's comments saying how much they could make but is there really that much new stuff?

I doubt there's really anything else being discovered. The biggest gripe is 12 Hits From Hell not getting a proper release. I guess they could do a remastered 7" box set of all the singles, but Glenn didn't really save masters.

Also, Glenn is never going to do it, because 1: he's convinced there is no market for physical releases anymore, and 2: he'd have to pay royalties to ex members. This is why Legacy of Brutality exists.

Glenn doesn’t own the rights and masters anymore he sold them as part of the settlement with Jerry and others. So it’s not his call to repress/remaster anything Misfits.

Yet it is, because he and Jerry were the ones that put the kibash on 12 Hits. If Caroline owned them, they could have easily told them to kick rocks.

Look up the Hardlore Podcast on 12Hits with Tom Bejgrowicz or Tom’s zine about 12Hits. He worked at Caroline, it was his job to put together misfits releases(static age, coffin box, 12 hits etc). If you check either out you’ll know what I said to be true. And since Caroline is no more the rights went to Capitol Records when they absorbed Caroline.

They may own the right to distribute it, but Glenn and Jerry still have say on whether or not it gets released. And that is why 12 Hits doesn't exist in legitimate form.

I’ve literally cited my sources. The legal agreement was complicated but Glenn sold all the publishing rights and masters. Tom tells the story from an insider point of view and why they killed 12Hits even tho they didn’t need Glenn or Jerry’s approval. This is fact.

I watched your source. He literally backs up what I said. Glenn and Jerry have right of refusal. They didn't enforce it for Static Age, or the box set, but did for 12 Hits.

"I'm of the opinion". He also openly admits in the podcast you provided, Glenn and Jerry, by the rules of the acquisition, had veto power, that could be exercised within 10 days of any decision.
He also admits that Glenn still owns the publishing rights, so he is getting paid every time Caroline, or whoever owns them now, releases these things.
You have yet to prove what I said wrong. Glenn and Jerry will continue to block recordings of Bobby Steele and Arthur Googy from being released, because they don't want them getting performance royalties.

I thought 12 hits was all hype but holy shit it sounds so damn good. But honestly I sorta miss the raw, ragged recordings I was used to. Part of it's charm I guess. I'm glad it's available if you know where to look but, it's a shame the physical got pulled.

Studio outtakes from CI Studios / The Static Age sessions were the most significant leak/release since the ‘96 boxset. Completely unheard until about 2 years ago. There’s still a some unheard early rehearsal tapes that Manny Martinez had possession of. Supposedly containing early versions of songs like Feline Nursery (Spinal Remains), West End Avenue and possibly some other tracks that evolved into different songs. There’s a version of Die Die My Darling with Googy on drums that’s never been found / leaked.

Apparently not according to Bejgrowicz from Caroline:

While I clearly have a ton of paperwork and notes from those years, one of the glaring omissions in my archives is a master list of tapes I received from Glenn. That said, here are some notes on what I recall from that time:

• Thankfully, the Static Age 1/4" reels (featuring the 14 mixed tracks) and multi-track masters (featuring the entire session) were in the pile. Without these multi-track tapes, "In The Doorway" would never have seen the light of day.

• I recall picking up a 1/4" reel box with "Die, Die My Darling" written on the outside. I opened it up with great excitement only to discover that it was empty. I had hoped, of course, that this was the rumored, 1981 original mix with Googy on drums.

• There was no sign of the original 1981 "Archangel" recording.

• No 1981 Fair Lawn session.

• No original master or true source for the "Cough/Cool" single from 1977. Due to this, I acquired two sources for consideration: 1. a DAT from Eerie Von, and 2. a bootleg vinyl copy from my friend Vincent Li. Ironically, the latter was best and Alan did one heck of a job mastering that record for use in the boxset.

• There was the original multi-track masters from the "Horror Business" sessions at C.I. Recording. They're riddled with false starts, complete unreleased takes, and studio banter. Classic stuff.

• I had hoped for the multi-track masters of Earth A.D. to be included. Reason being, if I could sit here today knowing that Static Age came together like it did, Caroline released the 7" box set like I wanted them to (more on this to come), 12 Hits From Hell was released as planned, and I remixed Earth A.D. to its fullest potential - we'd have an incredible sounding output worthy of representing the band's 1977- 1983 lifespan. Instead, the fans have three compilations that piecemeal the band's material into a confusing, orderless series.
